I've always been the "GO to guy". When nobody else can get it done...they give it to me.

About 6 months ago, my current supervisor was on vacation and I had to sit in on the weekly meeting they attend. When questions about which section of the shop was going to do a certain job came up the supervisors pointed at each other. Our big boss looked at me and said "That usually means that your going to be doing it". I laughed. I guess I'm still the "Go to guy", even here at my new job (5 years now).

In so many ways that is a compliment from management... I have heard that called Mikey Sydrome though.. As long as you can always MacGyver it, your good.. But the one time you can't some people will never let you forget it!

I've always wanted to try Kangaroo hide. I've heard it's nice to work with. Did you ever weight your whips when you braided them? If so, what did you use?

I hear you about not needing another hobby.

No, never weighted whips, never had the need. but i am very far from expert.

BTW Murphy sells kangaroo hide too, not just whips.
