I know how we all like pictures of our equipment out actually doing something. It seems so much more real than some sales brochure.

Enjoy,
D.

Nice pictures, do you also bale with your 4520?

No - we have a JD 467 round baler. I use a 5525 to bale with.

I did purchase a JD 346 square baler that I might bale with my 4520.

I have not raked for many years. My dad had the idea of custom hay stacking one year when I was in my teens. Raked most of the summer with a Ford 9N and 9' rake. Metal seat on the Ford. My butt finally quit hurting a few years ago.:D

I assume the 4520 handles the rake with ease?

I hear ya on the old Ford.

4520 handles it no problem. The real deal is the shorter wheel base. Even with the air ride seat it can beat you up. I run flat out in B range at around 6.2mph. My wife prefers around 5 mph.

Thanks for the post - D. Sweet pics!

Do you merge two or more windrows for that big baler? Up here they might roll 3 into 1 for a big baler. 'Course we're doin' really good to get 1 - 1-1/2 tons per acre!!

Leaves on the trees here at the house have just been out about a week, now. Grass is finally gettin' some growth, too.

I just finished puttin' on a ton of 22-11-11 and 6% sulfur on the 10 acre field I'm gonna bale with my JD 110 and the JD 336 baler this July.

I've got some pics of root-rakin' with a T250 Bobcat this last week... didn't think I'd post those on the JD forum!! ;)

Keep those pics, comin' D.

(Buildin' some new gates with that steel?)

It depends - I use a disc cutter so there are no rows to start out with. When it is thick we just run across it once to build one windrow. As long as the windrow is pretty even across -we are are good. When there are holes in the windrow - makes it hard to bale.

Same here in regards to the bermuda grass. It is finally starting to take off.

That should help get it going. 50 units of N is the min moist people put out. A tad more N will really get it going.

POst them - Bobcats can be a blast.

I was using electric fence around my hay storage. I am tired of dead batteries and the grass growing up to short out the fence. So - putting 6 wire fence around it with a pair of 12' gates.

I was going to take pictures of it pulling my dump trailer - pickup up bagged grass. Unfortunately I didn't have my phone with me.

We use the 4520 for all kinds of stuff around here.
