4520 Cab - Raking hay

I know how we all like pictures of our equipment out actually doing something. It seems so much more real than some sales brochure.

No - we have a JD 467 round baler. I use a 5525 to bale with.

I did purchase a JD 346 square baler that I might bale with my 4520.

I have not raked for many years. My dad had the idea of custom hay stacking one year when I was in my teens. Raked most of the summer with a Ford 9N and 9' rake. Metal seat on the Ford. My butt finally quit hurting a few years ago.

I assume the 4520 handles the rake with ease?

I hear ya on the old Ford.

4520 handles it no problem. The real deal is the shorter wheel base. Even with the air ride seat it can beat you up. I run flat out in B range at around 6.2mph. My wife prefers around 5 mph.

Do you merge two or more windrows for that big baler? Up here they might roll 3 into 1 for a big baler. 'Course we're doin' really good to get 1 - 1-1/2 tons per acre!!

Leaves on the trees here at the house have just been out about a week, now. Grass is finally gettin' some growth, too.

I just finished puttin' on a ton of 22-11-11 and 6% sulfur on the 10 acre field I'm gonna bale with my JD 110 and the JD 336 baler this July.

I've got some pics of root-rakin' with a T250 Bobcat this last week... didn't think I'd post those on the JD forum!!
