Hmmmm, $1995.00 + cylinder + hoses + fittings + SS mount + time = ? Sometimes the off the shelf price isn't as bad as it first appears to be.

My 8' York rake looks just like the one that Builder found - gauge wheels, etc. It pivots 45 degrees left and right. Will not reverse. There is an angled flat steel plate at the base of the pivot that stops rotation.
Dang... I had no idea that those York rakes could be so pricey!!! Figured mine would be worth $500 or so... better hang onto it!!

Well I went and did it, but had no choice. Shopped around for the best price I could find and ended up with a Woods LR800 8' CAT-2 rake with power angling for $1,895. Everyone else was a few hundred higher. Guy with the used York rake wanted $1,995 + $500 for shipping. This dealer wanted my business and I was too tired to pursue it any longer. I know the Yorkie is heavier built, but I'm way over budget with that one and he was close to the price of a new rake.

I use a plate to 3 point adapter. Worked great for the rake until I snapped off the rake at the weld pivot point. The carriage arms of a skidsteer are very heavy with downward pressure causing too much stress on the tube welds, even when 'floating' the hydraulics. I welded a steel channel to the rake because it was starting to twist. Box scraper also works good with the adapter. The tracks on the skidsteer keep it level over ruts compared to tractor tires, making a quicker level surface. Tracks allow me to work on damp, soft areas when the tractor would sink. Using the scraper in a forward direction makes a great plow for leveling surfaces. I can also use this setup on my tractor FEL which has quick disconnects. Downside is operating in reverse and limited visibility.

Are you still using the rake as a front mount on your skid steer? Or have you given-up because of carnage to the rake?
I would still like to do a front mount and I think my Woods rake might be heavier-built than your rake (not trying to rip your rake, just stating that because I might be able to get away with a rake on my less powerful tractor opposed to a more powerful tracked skid steer like yours).
Would you guess a well built rake would survivie in front of my M7040 if I'm farily careful? Or maybe more accurately put-would your rake survive mounted to the front of your TN65? (similar size to my rig)

McCaskey's rake sure looks like it's CAT I... I don't think I'd want my York hanging on the front-end of my JD110 (sure could do it/for awhile, anyway..)!
I fabbed up a SS hitch to use as a gin-pole and ball hitch configuration to move trailers and lift attachments (odd sizes and shapes) with my tractor.
A SS to 3pt isn't that hard to do (and I'm real testament to that..). A Sunday afternoon and $100 in steel.
I'd think you could work your CAT II rake off the front of your tractor. That said, I'd also believe it would be a situation very similar to working a snow-plow blade on the front of a tractor.
Works really good... until it just caught the very edge of that....!!!
Then it's back to the shop and a day or two with the plasma cutter, angle grinder and welder!

Seems like it'd be tough to damage a rake unlike a blade because the tines are your "cushion". Worst you'd do is break/bend a tine. However if McCaskey broke his, there must be a way to damage them......
