Kioti DK45S Cab, Quicktach FEL
Adding a Kioti DK45S Cab FEL to the stable.:) After a couple of years reserching every brand on TBN, machinery shows, fairs and dealers lots I finally went with Kioti. My dealer is Lyle Woods of Off Duty Ranch and he will deliver Thursday or Friday. I will post some pics when it arrives and a few of it doing some chores around the farm. I have a spot cleaned out next to the JD4430 in the shop for when it arrives.
I think it should fit our small goat dairy and hay operation fine. The cab will be nice for haymaking.

Congratulations.
I like the 45S. The self leveling loader and very slow low gear if you need it for tilling.
Good luck with it.

Hey HHM,

Congrats! I'm sure you will love it. Just remember that Chevy Orange is a pretty good match for when you get the first scratches. And make sure to wax it weekly! <grin>.

Also, the stock headlights are useless with the FEL in the way, so get some extra lights mounted on the ROPS before fall.

Congrats and Welcome to the Pack!

That DK45 sure is a beast of a tractor! Looking forward to pictures.

I've had mine about four years now and so far have few complaints.
As far as cab-- heat and AC were a problem, will not roast you out in the winter or freeze you in the summer but it does an o.k job. Kioti had been told there was a problem but not sure if they ever addressed the issue. It has been used for just about every type of farming operation and has performed well.

I also have a dk45s. I have never found this tractor to be lacking. I have had mine for almost 4 yrs. I have thought about upgrading and have never found another tractor that is a better bang for my buck.

Enjoy.

Oleozz is correct regarding heat and AC. Although with the heat on in summer it will roast ya out and AC on in winter will chill ya to the bone! Great tractor though!

Great Pic! What kind of plow are you pullin? I will let you know how the air and heat does. It is a new 2009. I demoed it feeding a round bale in some very muddy conditions up hill. It didn't slip once.

I plan on using it with a Kuhn G25 3pt rotary rake/tedder combo also. My son has been using an old Farmall M with a Deere bar rake. It has no roll over protection and it was possible to turn short and have the rake climb the tire. The Kioti DK45 and 3pt rake will be a lot safer for him. I plan on getting a grapple and hay accumilator for small bales. I will be going with an 8 bale so the DK45 should handle it. May need to add some wheel weights or load the tires.

Thanks for all the great feed back guys.

Sounds like you will be putting the 45 to good use. The plow is a Hawse, 2 bottom 12 inch, pulls like a boat anchor, gets very little use since I have a 4 btm IH plow that I use with another tractor.
I think your plan for getting the tires filled is a good idea for better stability and traction.

Try to keep myself busy while waiting on the new tractor. Unsure of the arrival day now so here are some pics from a very nice mid March day and what you do while waiting on a new tractor.:D

I washed the 1974 JD4430 and cleaned the windows in the cab. I put a new top on the cab, replaced the radio, reattached the blower motor bracket and added 3 new flasher lights and lenses. Then washed my car. Picked up some hay at the other farm for our small dairy goat herd in the Dodge. I am sure glad spring is here.:) I should mention my wife and sons helped alot.

I hope the next pics are of a new tractor.

Nice pics. From outward appearances your 4430 looks to be in good condition? How many hours do you have on it? What about your 1466, is it a good runner? Any TA problems? The TA is shot in my 1066 and will have it repaired this summer. You must have a fair amount of acerage to have use for two bigger tractors.
It was a beautiful day here in central Pa, I am getting an IH 720 4 btm plow ready to repaint so I was pressure washing the grease off.

Nice Truck! I love those Cummins powered RAM's.
I had to wait over a week for my tractor (due to cab) and it was tough but my dealer kept posting pictures here as they progressed until delivery. That helped a lot!

Congratulations on the new purchase you'll find the DK45 is one good machine. Just when I think I over sized I'll get into a sizable project and I'm reminded how bad my addiction is and how glade I have the DK45.

The 4430 just turned over 7000 hrs last fall. My uncle bought it new in '74. It came with 5-18" semi-mount plow. I was there when it was delivered new and had the opportunity to ride in it all day for 2 days never leaving the same field.
It mainly helps with the fall chisel plowing on the in-laws farm. I use it for cutting and baling hay all summer for myself. Great cab!
The 1466 has a solid engine and has had an Allied Precision Life Time T/A installed with pressure sending unit to monitor the hydraulic pressure to catch problems early. I believe they are made in Iowa. The cab on 1466 is not good. It does the some spring tillage and making hay as well.

Nice thread! I am hoping to see it arrive next week. I will definitly post some pics cleaning the barn and movin stuff.

So far the truck has done a nice job for us. I replaced my Dodge Ram 250 I bought new in 1984. I still own the old Dodge as well. It is kept at the farm and used to pick up hay in the field, haul wood and build fence.

Thanks, I have had alot of people say positve things about the Kioti DK45. I like the cab and yet is small enough help clean the barn out and yet big enough to help make hay.

How long have you owned yours?

I'm going on 2 years now and if a week goes by with out me on it I start going stir crazy. The first thing I added was a tooth bar and man can we ever dig it up now. I'm working on the Post hole digger purchase or I should say the Boss is working on it for me, She's a horse trader and used car salesman if you know what I mean :D. Be safe and have a good one.
