Hi I have a 08 JD 2520 with a trans problem. The tractor has 207 hours on it. Last year when it had approx 100 hours the PTO quit working. The dealer said it was a broken pin in the tranny. It was fixed and worked great.
Now a year and 100 hours later another PTO problem. This time the PTO would not shut off. I had my snow blower on and when I would shut off the PTO it would keep running. If I would back the blower into a snow bank it would stop and stay stopped. This time it was a broken PTO brake.
Now my new problem. When I got my tractor back and tried it out I thought the delivery driver had set the park brake. When I went to start out the pedal had to be pushed harder to get going. The brake was not on and the tractor will roll freely in nuetral.
When driving in low range at full throttle the tractor will stop in less then a foot when I let off the hydro pedal making me slide forward on the seat(and I'm a big guy). In hi range at full throttle the tractor will stop in less than a tractor length again making me slide ahead on the seat.
Yesterday I went to the dealer and talked to the mechanic about this. He said he too noticed this and could not figure out why it did this. We tried a new 2520 and it was totally different. It would roll to a stop like my tractor did berfore the last repair.
The mechanic said he would look into it and do what ever it takes to fix it.
My concern is this tractor has only one year warrenty left and I don't want this to come back to bite my in the butt down the road.
My question to you all is have any of you ever had this problem or do any of you have any ideas of what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance for any help. Tim
