OK, I closed off then back on again and looked to the bottom,
the no# read---> 0.08280 well higher then the " 0.07270 " you have post.
I tried a 2nd time and was 0.08494 even higher than before
so is this partly the site issue?

Keep in mind these times are in seconds, so it's .07 seconds compared to .08 seconds. It's not a site issue.

I'm a bit of a computer dummy myself, but it seems you're talking about one one-hundredth of a second, so I wouldn't think it was TBN, but I don't know. When I came to your post, mine was 0.072xx while the page is 0.05488 seconds.

At home I get hung half way down the main discussions page quite often. The messages at the bottom left of the browser window ALWAYS say it is waiting for XXXX where XXXX = an apparent advertising site. I can wait several minutes and when the page finally loads I check the numbers at the bottom of the TBN page. The TBN pages are generated very fast. However, it hangs on the advertising loads.

This does not happen at my employer, just at home. I wonder if there is something in the filtering of my home ISP that slows or prevents ads from loading from certain ad houses?

My suggestion to the original poster is to try it somewhere else, through a different ISP (Internet Service Provider) and see if it is any faster.

It home I am using the cheapest ATT/Yahoo DSL service.

I do see ads at the top of many (not all) of the pages, but I guess (don't know) that my Norton Internet Security blocks some ads. I know it blocks pop-ups, don't know about any other ads. But anyway I don't have that problem of delays waiting for ads to load.

I've noticed that a topic with more replies seems to take longer to load then the ones with fewer replies, I think it must be a ISP speed thing, it could be a heavy traffic time of day, I can deal with it I'm not really complaining then being more concerned if I need to fix something and if anyone else having this slow browsing issue, but it is just this 1 website being a bit slow, thank goodness none of the other sites are, I stepped up from dial-up years ago :D

I also had this problem..I too am on the far end of DSL...My XP machine would have TBN page loads of over a minute or two, sometimes worse...The new Windows 7 machine loads them like Yahoo or Google, don't even have time to blink (no status bar)...Sounds like your PC to me.

OK. I think I found the problem;) I use AOL 9.5 as my home page & search engine,
so I skipped the AOL and went through the Explorer to sign in , WOW! what a difference that made,
0.05264 ....... not going through AOL certainly help the loading speed
actually I wouldn't even be using AOL
but our family has grown accustom to the IM features and we all can stay in touch this way, Ya know the web cam and live talk feature through our PC's etc,
I know now that when I come here I'll need to use the internet explorer :)
I'm happy browser now:D

If you only using AOL for chat and not as your internet connection you can just install the "AOL Instant Messenger" program. It is not as invasive as the AOL connection software and will still let you do chat and webcam/live talk conferencing.
