I doubt you could get the stumps out with a set of forks. Better to get the hoe now than later, it will be cheaper in a package deal. You said you would be paying cash, but taking advantage of the Kubota's free money is always an option. With as much ground as you have, you will find all kinds of uses for a hoe.

Well put!
I himhawed about getting a tractor with a backhoe...now I will always want one!

Around my area, you can rent a backhoe for the weekend for a reasonable price which is what my brothers do.

I am a stickler on the cash. Maybe a used one will appear, or some ideal circumstances will come together. Maybe a cash discount.

I only risked asking about lifting out a stump since a friend's grad-all telescoping lift was able to lift one out with a chain tied around the trunk.

Discounts for packages, such as the backhoe are compelling.

Good point, too. I rented a skisteer once, was rained out, got no work done, and lost out -- no re-do from the rental place.

I'm with MDM....... smart man. I also recommend the hoe WITH the tractor at purchase, it will be cheaper to do it all at once (than add later on). If the backhoe puts you in a price range thats a little tough to swallow, why not finance a few thousand at 0%?

Just depends on how much you will use one; even a rain out or two or three
is a LOT cheaper than buying one. We had one for years; still do, but we don't use it enough to keep it up in shape, so we just rent one when needed.

I can afford to buy one; just won't need it, so I will keep my money. Of course in addition to my Kubota, I do have a 80 HP with FEL that will get stumps and such out if needed.

Your situation my dictate otherwise.

Did I mention that I hate to spend money...

Without doing an in depth analysis it looks like you want to push some dirt around several times a year, maintain 200 to 400 trees, maybe a driveway.
And you are about as cheap as I am.

Without the "farmed by farmer" land youve only got 5 acres.

You don't need anything big. Look for a used B7800, or go smaller w/ a B7610 (like in my pic). A BX MIGHT do the trick but I consider the ones under 23HP on the small side. Get a box blade and log arch.

I'd recommend a backhoe, but as far as I'm concerned they are a waste of money, and that's how I want to waste my money.

I seen a b26 on net for low 20's in the your area. it would do it all or find a b21. If you buy a BX it think you will be disapointed go for a b or l with hydro.

Obviously, I waste a little money -- racetrack in backyard....

But what's the "log arch"?

I would like to smooth out the turf, as is was never finish graded everywhere. Then there is the "bury the concrete" project, where dirt is dumped on top and need to be smoothed over. But, you're right.

On another reply, it's not that there is a shortage of money on hand, but rather a limit to the amount I can justify for the mission, so any financing will still take away dollars, just later on. On the plus side, with the chipping-in we do at the racetrack, there is a certain level of expense that can be justified, purely from that hobby alone, perhaps mitigating 2K to 3K per year of expenses

Definitely get the box blade.
