SNOW & NEALY AXES OF Maine, And I could go on and on. Stop buying junk and you will find most all of your needs can be met from USA, get your wallet out.
Brad

Just read in a catalog the axe heads are now forged overseas then sharpened and assembled here. :(

We have used pallet racking made in China. We have had mixed results but we have had some items that we needed to stick a mag drill to that would not hold it. Because Chinese steel is not as pure as American made there are some significant drawbacks. If you are looking to store anything near the capacity of the steel definitely need to go American.

LL Bean shipped off about 6-7 years ago, sad, I think Land's End followed them just after.

Anyways, In my almost 1300 posts You find references to my rants about not being able to find US made goods anymore especially from TSC!

Here's some items I have recently bought US made:

Corelle dishes

Allen Edmunds dress shoes

Northerner Rubber boots (tingley went to china)

Kamik kids boots (both USA and Canada)

Baffin boots for me (Canada) I dont hesitate to settle for Canadian because they buy a lot of US stuff.

Juno recessed lighting from Lowes

Goodyear Integrity tires (I believe goodyear is still US owned. Anybody know any better?

Titan R-4s (1.5 years ago) Titan is very proud of thier US mfg)

Oil drain container from Autozone cant recall the name.

Whirlpool Gold gas range, dishwasher, microwave and fridge for the remodeled house.

Items I am considering:

Johnson woolen mills clothing for the kids

A cadillac SRX for the wife (used). The new SRX are a different Vehicle (mistake) and now made in mexico (bigger mistake).

Thanks guys for not getting hostile and getting the thread closed.

sal64, That reminds me of the little league diamonds my town put up 2 years ago, I cut my self on the galvanized cyclone fence they used, posts and everything made in china, they dip the wire and the drips dry leaving all kinds of snags.

I've been coddling my nine yo Toyota Echo, anticipating the arrival of the first built in the USA micro car, the Chevy Spark. The Spark was due to begin rolling off the assembly line in Lake Orion, Michigan in 2011.

I just found out that apparently GM's decided to build the Spark in South Korea and export them to the US instead...Dang!

just wanted to keep a good post going.
I have spent years looking for and buying American made products. And not ashamed to do it.

My wife and I started a web site to help American families keep their job. But it takes the consumer to finish the cycle. American made products--->American retailer--->American consumer. WE can all help THE PEOPLE of America. Take a second to see where something is made.

In the case of manufactured durable goods like appliances you will find most components manufactured elsewhere and the end product assembled here. A product is only as good as it's weakest link. I also have been dismayed to find some carhart apparrel coming from outside the country also.

Construction Attachments are made here in North Carolina, and they make mostly Skid Steer Attachments. Very high quality and meant to be used everyday. It's my brothers company, and I am working hard to start manufacturing my own line of tractor implements that will be made here in the USA as well.

As a Canadian I try hard to buy Canadian or American made products when I can Getting very hard to do. Bought my wife a cast iron frying pan for Xmas one year. The store had two side by side, one was 10 dollars cheaper. Yup, you guessed it, Made in China for the cheaper one. The other one was an american made. The american made had a nicer finish and better quality iron. I used to work in a foundry. The best thing we can do is to buy as little of overseas products as possible to keep yours and mine neighbors working. Also remember that both of our countries are based upon Christian beliefs and not some other god! God Bless our countries!

A few years back I needed a new rad for my 1990 Ford. Chinese model cost $210.00. I wanted one made in US or Canada for $475.00 but couldn't get the parts store to order one for me unless I paid in advance with no guarantee of a delivery date, likely 6 weeks, and no refund. Apparently, nobody else wants to pay the price, so I can't get one either. Thankfully the cheap one hasn't been any sort of a problem
