Ok everyone here are a few pics of my mostly completed custom built cab, I still have to add my wiper, lights and some other things, I also am going to be doing alot to the interior over the winter, but for now it is very useable, the heat and radio work wonderful :D, it was 30 degrees out today and inside the cab on LOW heat it was 65 degrees, I must admit I hate snow but want some soon so I can go play and clear my lane and neighbors driveways.

After adding up my reciepts I have around $1800.00 in the cab, I did loose a few reciepts but the price is close. I included the cost of consumables as well but not my new chop saw and a few other tools, I needed them for other projects as well anyhow ;)

Overall it was a very fun project, as usuall in any project there were some bad days but I am very satisfied with what I have created.

I want to thank many of you on here for your help and encouragement.

That is one of the if not the best looking homemade cab I have seen. Looks factory from the pics you posted. Would love to see some inside shots.

Nice looking place and great job on the cab. I too would like to see the interior. Looks like that splitter is up to the task also.

Very well done. You will fall in love with your tractor all over again just like i did. It's like you bought a new tractor and be proud of your accomplishment all in the same time. I encourage anyone with a welder to give it a try. A couple thousand bucks is lots better than seven thousand and even if you don't get your money back when you sell or trade in 5 or 10 years, it can't depreciate any more that it's cost.
Have fun in the snow.

Thank You guys!

I will get some pics today of the interior, As a lot of you have said its like I have a new tractor with the addition of the cab, I am very happy I have it.

And yes the splitter is being maxed out, My outdoor boiler burns a lot of wood but beats the cost of gas :D

MCD 176;
The cab looks factory... Very nice. Did I miss the construction shots ? Did you make the supports and cover the remainder with glued on safety glass ? The square look is definately in. Must be the new design kubota. I haven't seen that style. How are you mounting the wiper amid all the glass ... or did you save a section below the roof panel ? Again... great work.

Joes427vette,

First of all thank you for the compliments, here is the link to the construction photos:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/build-yourself/147742-kubota-l4200-cab-updated-thread.html

As far as the supports yes I fabricated the entire cab from scratch with 1.5 x 1/8" tube, I then used 3M window urethane to mount the glass, the door is removable as well as the rear 1/4 windows for the summertime

Thanks,

Mike

Could we see some close-ups of the glass attachment? From the costruction photos, it looks like it's just glued to the outside. But then, I thought I read something about you insetting it.

Congratulations on your cab.- I went through the thread when you was building it.- You do great work and that's the best looking homemade cab I've ever seen.- I like how the glass is in your cab.- Looks like you have great visibility, and it really looks like a factory cab! -Very well thought out! :)

About the wiper.- Do you already have the wiper motor ?

If not, JC Whitney has some great wiper motors and the price is great.- They are very easy to install, and only requires drilling a 3/8" hole.- And they also have an on/off switch on the motor.

Looking forward to seeing more pics when it's all finished!

Thanks for sharing your project!

I would hope he predrilled the hole before the glass was tempered.

My bad, I was thinking about my cabs both have the wipers mounted to the glass for the rear windows.
