Saturday I sent my bcs and sickle mower off for a tuneup. Last night the shop was in a 3 alarm fire. I don't know if the BCS is gone yet but I will try to find out thursday. I don't think the bcs had over a 100 hours on it and the sickle mower had about 15 hours. I sent the mower with the tractor for balance.

Sorry to hear about that.

I don't know yet. Still trying to get feedback from the owners. It looks like my homeowners will cover it if their insurance doesn't but I don't know if mine was inside or in a storage building. It was a 720 not a 850. If it is destroyed I will buy another one but I really like mine. It was the best purchase I have made in 20 years.

Thanks for asking,
Jim

The owner just called me, the BCS is toast. He suggested I call my homeowners. I was really impressed by that machine. It was extremely well built.

Sorry to hear that. I don't think your homeowners will cover your machine offsite unless you have a separate rider for off-property coverage. That should be on the shop owners insurance and that is the first question I'd be asking him.

Thanks for the replies. I contacted my adjuster and it is in his hands. I will let him battle it out.

I got a phone message, my homeowners is covering it, they will go after the repair shop so... I am in the market for a lightly used BCS in the New Hampshire area.

That's good news that they will cover it. I'm not so sure they had to. Kudos to them. Good luck with your search.

If you request it in your homeowners for offsite coverage they will.

Exactly right..I called my agent when I started using my tractor away from home and found out I did need a separate rider on the policy and I was able to specify a certain amount for a total value of the tractor, so now if it is stolen or destroyed there is no haggling over depreciated value..the value has been fixed and that is what I will receive..hope it never happens but I have had a trailer stolen so I did not want to take any chances. Hope your insurance gives you all you need to replace your loss.

Update, on sunday a brand new 722 will be delivered to my home from New Haven Power equipment. Because I have a very petite wife who insists she will use it , it will have electric start.

SWEET! Way to go, Jim! You are going to love the electric start.

So that is the gas engine? We have an old 1985 735 with the Lombardini diesel engine. These machines are really great so I can understand your wanting to get another one!
I would love to have at least a compression release as our engine (believe it or not!) uses a rope start requiring hand wrapping around the front spool. How is that for retro? No retracting starter rope. My arms are like a gorilla now after using that thing for thirty years!
