I just go with something small and cheap (under $30) with at least a one year wrty and keep the paperwork. Works just as good as a high dollar Surfire. Found usually at a big box store.
Qbeam is probably still the best. They have some at Walmart that are rechargable. I expect the sporting goods stores carry them, too. Cabelas, Bass Pro, etc. Check Sportsman's Guide, too, for a closeout special.

black and decker... can recharge from ac or 12v, has a good bright lamp, and can trigger lock it.. also has 2 suber bright white leds.. for low illumination when you don't need to read a book across the pasture with it..
I just got a BD at Walmart for $25 and like it just fine. The charger is built in so no losing it, just needs a power cord. Way more light than the same priced Gander Mountain brand I got a month ago. The model number is SL102B. I also have a BD rechargeable LED worklight that I have put to a lot of use, construction site and home, for a year now.

I did get mine at lowes
model # VEC 157 BD
Have had it since last year.. great lamp.
save yer paperwork.. when/if the lamp element has to be replaced.. you have to order from them to get the correct wattage. it's like a 100w bulb.. but in the after market you can only find 50w and 75w replacements, except thru bd.. etc...
