Anyone have any pics of these? I want to try and build one for various reasons. One reason is to put my front blade on the rear for snow plowing, another is to be able to use my forks, grapple or bucket on the rear while using another attachment on the front. ATI has a picture of one on their website but its not big enough to really see any details. I'm trying to copy off something instaed of trial and error as I usually do. Any thoughts, comments or pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

<edit>

I use this in reverse, I have a 3pt to skid adapter which I use to mount 3pt equipment on my FEL. I salvaged it off a backhoe I converted back to a 3pt mount. I can snap some pics of it if you want but it's not pretty... Here are some you can find on ebay;

Would like to see your setup if you don't mind. I can probably show you as bad a welding job as any. They usually don't look too bad until you knock the flux off.

Thanks

I can't take any credit for building this, I can take credit for abusing it and not painting it, but it works well for me in multiple applications. Right now the adapter is attached to my carry-alls.

I don't have the skid attachment system but I did make one to work with JD system.

I thought it would come in handy for forks and plow also.

Steve

I made mine kinda just as an experiment as I already modded my forks and snow plow to go directly onto the 3pt QH. I had a spare set of those JD type carriers

Was just thinking of a quick way to do it if you don't need it to quick attach to the 3pt. Just take a cheap harbor freight quick hitch, cut off the J-hooks, now you have a frame that will mount to your 3pt. next get those skid steer implement holders and depending on the spacing you might be able to weld them right on the frame, but likely you would need to do some plate work on the frame first to mount those holders.

You will want a HTL to compliment such an adaptor,

Forks on the rear are far easier to use than on a loader, also higher capacity as long as you don't need to put something up high.

The snow plow is also a serious consideration, I had mine on the 3pt last year and it was great having loader and power angle plow on at the same time. what I found was I was using the plow more than the loader that's why this year I came up with that front frame mounted plow lifted by loader contraption.

The grapple and bucket may not lift high enough to effectively unload even with a dedicated longer travel HTL. but that big bucket on the back does provide some added trunk space if needed.
Like if you were going out to do some heavy clearing with your grapple on the front, you could stow all your other tools in the trunk like saws etc.

Just had a little premonition, maybe someday all front and rear implements will have a universal carrier system, making them all interchangeable.

I have wanted one for a while ...never taken the plunge.
There is a picture of the Bradco version in the middle of this thread:

good luck...sure would be nice to have a universal attaching system front and back!

Where do you get the JD Quick attach bracket that you used on your 3 ph loader adapter? It looks like a part that can be directly purchased from John deere.

I would like to build this adapter for my 3320. Thanks for the photos that is a very useful adapter. I can see many uses.

Can't you just copy the design of the QA adaptor from the front of your tractor and the 3 pt frame from one of your attachments. Then, weld the two of them together and you'll have something like the ATI adaptor.

If your talking about those 2 carriers that you normally see on the front of your loader. Yes they are JD parts. These came on the early 300cx loader, they were pron to breaking due to a poor design at the bottom where the retainer pin went. I heard alot of talk on this site about the problem. I guess it was like a recall.
Even though mine didn't break I went to the dealer and told them to get me the replacement carriers, they said fine but bring us the broken ones, I told them mine were fine but I want the new ones sitting on MY shelf, so in case they break on the week end I don't have any down time. They gave me the new ones and said when you swap them bring us the old ones, well I didn't swap them for a year, when I asked them if they still needed them they said I could keep them.

So they didn't cost me anything, I was just experimenting when I made that contraption, it will handle any load that the rest of the tractor can handle. Even though this was super simple and the other parts cost very little, I would think there would be a cheaper way, as those carriers might be pricey, as everything JD is.

I would start with a 3 pt adaptor plate and mod the blank/front side to engage front implements. Something like a solid short piece of round stock to go under the top hooks and just need a hole for the bottom pins to go thru and be retained.
I think that's what JohninCT was recommending in the previous post.

Here's a link to the thread I started when I built it if you think you wanted to go that route.
