Time for some dirty pictures

Thought I'd add to the collection of dirty pictures posted on the internet. Warning to all tractor waxers, they following pictures may offend those who keep their tractors spotless. But I have to say it did look pretty good till the next time I used it.

After two years I thought it was time for the first wash. Just thought I'd snap a few pics beforehand. Anybody out there have a dirtier tractor? No fair running through the mudhole after you read this

That's how mine looks from time to time. I just leave it out in the rain every so often so mine is not as dirty as yours, today.

OMG! That poor Kubota, make sure after you give it a nice warm bath you apply a good coat if wax. And don't forget to Armor- All the tires.

mine gets like that also form time to time, but I do clean it off when it gets really bad. .........Yes I guess I am a waxer.

Come on now, the inside of the cab of my work truck is dirtier than that.

I don't have pictures but I have had mine much dirtier than that. I was backfilling a hole that had been excavated to remove a stump. It had rained quite a bit and the clay soil here just doesn't drain too well at all. Anyway when backfilling the moat and trying to drop FEL loads into the low spots the front axle of the orange beast sunk below ground level. The only way to get her out (other than a crain) was to lift the front end off (or maybe out) of the ground and push back with the bucket. It took an hour with the pressure washer to get the mud off. It was packed about 6 to 8 inches thick. I don't think I will do that again real soon.

Looks clean to me! I guess you've never really gotten the tractor into deep sticky clay!

Tractors are supposed to play in the dirt! Otherwise, they'd stay in the dealer showroom and the manufactures would go broke!

I guess you didn't see the youtube video where the ag sprayer and a big (250hp) tractor both got buried to the top of the rear wheels!

I thought I had the newer seat, but now that I've checked the posted pictures I see that you are correct. I've probably missed the boat now. My dealer has been nice enogh about other things that I'd feel guilty even bringing it up. Oh well, maybe I'll just wear a pair of hockey pants when I'm on my tractor

Found this agsprayer/tractor mudhole tape on youtube YouTube - Stuck Sprayer that I think you were referring to. Never been in the mud like those guys.

We do have Lido clay here under the topsoil which turns to soup when wet. Nearly hard as rock when dry. I've put a front tire in down to the axle at least twice but managed to get out by dropping the load and lifting/pushing back with the bucket. Fortunately haven't driven all four tires into the stuff or probably would still be there. Really gets your attention when you have a full bucket and a front tire suddenly disappears.

I just bought one of the new style seats (no foreward sliding) off ebay for around $95.

this is off subject, but dirty trucks and tractors made me think if this story. It was back in my much younger and crazy days. I had a Ford Bronco, big mud tires etc. Lived in a nice development with lots of open space butting up to foothills outside of Denver. It had rained heavily for several days but had let up. A neighbor and I consumed too many beers one night and decided to take the Bronco out in a large tract of the open space, posted as no vehicles allowed. This Bronco was just absolutely covered with big chunks of Mud. anyway drove home and put it in garage and called it a night. Next morning went out for paper and found that I had left a "chunks of mud trail" straight to the house and into garage. no hiding the fact where I had been. I think there was enough mud that came off the Bronco to plant a small garden.

I see what you mean. Those guys did a bang up job of digging themselves in. I thought they where going to get that cropduster stuck next .

Somebody famous said something like, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." Those guys started with one vehicle with one tire about a foot in the mud and didn't stop digging themselves in until they had two vehicles up to their frames in mud. Maybe they should have been wearing a mask when they mixed the spay lol.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I got a good chuckle out of it too. Good call on the crop duster, LOL.

Worst I've ever done is about a foot deep before I hit hardpan. Had to pull it out with a come-along.

I've also seen some pictures of big excavators (track hoe) getting stuck deep enough to have a foot of mud in the cab! They had slid off the timber mats they were on. It's quite a job to get a 35 ton excavator out of the muck!

Been there done that...But in my 3/4 chevy crewcab in a field, burried up to the doors...yeah I got a winch, but the nearest tree was 400 feet away.

150' synthetic winch line,
150' old rappeling rope (not safe for climbing) rated at 9500#
30' nylon tow strap
20' nylon strap
25' 3/8 chain
10' 3/8 binder chain..
25' 5000# utility rope, doubled it so only had 12 feet to work with.

Just got me there. Had to winch for a good 100' before ground was hard enough...Luckily there was another way back..
