Delivered with 0.5 hours on it. Iv'e worked it up to 1.9 hrs. I don't really have anything to compare it to since I've never owned an ATV/UTV. (What the heck doe RTV stand for anyway?). It has ATV tires which they will be switching out for worksite tires.
I previously tested a Rhino and an EZ-GO. The EZ-GO is meant for light duty, and had an air-cooled 1 banger. Still, the going price was $6,500. The Rhino was fast and appeared to be well built. The ground clearance was great, but you're still talking about a carb'd, single cylinder engine. It was at the top of my list.
The Kubota appears to be more "tool" than "toy". It is ruggedly built and utilitarian in design. The worst initial feature is ground clearance, but since it's a "tool" rather than an off-road "toy", I'm OK with that. A higher top end speed would be nice (based on a test ride/No wide open throttle during break-in), but again, it's a compromise.
The HST drive is unique, and will take getting used to. But it's been around in various forms for decades in heavy equipment, and I think Kubota has got a good handle on it for their small tractors. I'm looking forward to testing it out a little more thoroughly after break-in.
I'd say the best features are the simple rugged frame, injected, water cooled 2-banger, and 0% for 60 months....That's just crazy
By the way, I'm a big synthetic oil fan. Anybody running Mobil-1 (10-30) in theirs?
