inner tube for BX24

My front tires on my BX24 are always losing air pressure after sitting several days & I would like to put tubes in them problem is I cannot find tubes to fit a 18 x 8.50 - 10 tire, anyone know where I could find them in this size or a size tube that would work ok

I had the local tire store order a tube for mine that had a slow leak, I think they were 24x8.50-14. They are expensive, I think they were like $40. I also put tubes in my ztr tires. The guy in the tire store told me he thought I'd be better off buying a new tire and making sure the bead on the rim was clean and smooth. I think the tires were only about $70. I went with the tube because my tractor is a long way from the house and it's a pain to always be filling a leaky tire.

I've been having a similar problem. I used some fix a flat and that has helped. I also bought a $10 little air compressor from Home Depot that plugs into the tractor's 12V accessory (cigarette lighter) plug. That has been a godsend.

I had that problem, turns out it was the valve stem... might be worth a check. The valve stems can get beat on when working in brush and what not, does not take much to damnage one.

I had the same problem with my Grand L 3010. I removed my front tires and took them to a Gateway Tire Center and had tubes installed, this fixed the problem. You may have a local tire dealer who could help you.

Do not waste your time with tubes...Been there and wasted time, tubes, tire spoons....Even had the local tire place fix it (try too). Buy some Slime and be done!

definitely check the valve stems. I checked the air this past Saturday, came out Sunday morning and front tire was flat. It wasn't the core - just the rubber around the stem. The little pressure from the gauge was enough to open it up. Machine is only 18 months old with 150 hours and kept under cover

I agree, SLIME is the way to go. My right tire kept loosing pressure about a month after I bought the tractor brand new. Dealer stated that they've seen that happen a lot with these especially when under a heavy load on the FEL. I put SLIME in both tires and haven't had a problem with it in a year now.

Don't have problems with the Kubota, but the so called Ag tires on my old MTD garden tractor used to get punctured by thorns on the Yellow Russian Star Thistle we have (darned stuff is hard as nails and sharp as needles-a neighbor's dog got one in REAR foot and it worked its way all the way to the FRONT shoulder!!). I got inner tubes from Big O Tires for the MTD. The thistle is also brutal on bikes and motocross cycles for kids in our area. They often get inner tubes plus a kevlar lining to go between the tire and the inner tubes. Works great!

i'm looking at 80 bucks for a new tire. i already had a short valve stem installed which i love. but, the tire is leaking from two pin holes in the sidewall. shop (which i believe is a good shop and i've used them lots before) tried to patch it from the inside but it wouldn't hold.

thought about a tube, but it IS very hard to find the correct size tube with the valve stem angled properly. plus, the valve stem will be long again which i don't want.

so, new tire coming my way and sliming the old one to limp it along till next week and then keeping it as a spare. i might try to just enlarge the holes and stick a plug in them to see if that will hold.

You should think carefully about the shortcomings of tubes before changing. Tubes should be a last resort... and only used where punctures are unlikely.

The important thing to remember is that tubes DO NOT have valve stems that are sealed to the rim. A slow leak in a tubeless tyre can be kept inflated with air top-ups. And it can be fixed with a plug or slime. But a nail in a tube in a tractor tyre is often fatal because the nail (imbedded in the flexing tyre) rips a tear in the tube and air is instantly deflated around the valve stem.
It can't be reinflated when this happens. You'll have to remove the tube to repair it or throw it away.

Theres no such thing as a slow leak in a tubed tractor tyre.

(Another problem with tubes - If you try to re-inflate a punctured tube without removing the nail you'll just put a second hole in the tube)

Had a slow leak at the rim of front left tire. I'm pretty sure I broke the bead carrying heavy loads of stone. Kept pumping up every three days till I got tired of the wasted time. Had a tube put in and haven't filled it in months . The local tire shop said they do it quite often for small tractors. I think they only charged me $25. Worked great for me.

Wow, I made the mistake of going to the local Ottawa Kubota dealer for a slow leak in the rear and also a leak in the front. They installed a tube in the rear and replaced the valve stem in the front (about 22$ materials) and stiffed me 90$ full 1-hour labor. Worst of all, the front is still leaking!

Needless to say, I won't be using that dealer anytime soon.
