Green tractor sale?

Around me the green dealer attends sales & buys up cheap stuff. Strips off the weights, loaders, etc & resells.

I don't believe there are too many bargains. Manufacturers have not cut prices. Like most businesses, they just cut production with fewer units being produced. They will just weather out the storm. Dealers just have fewer units available on the lots or ordered fewer. The only bargains would be dealers with units on the lot that need to be sold or possibly trade ins.

I think you're "on the money" there!! However, if sales continue to lag in all sectors - construction, home use, and Agriculture - they'll have to furlough assembly line people; or drop prices...

I think the JD financing is about your best bet in cashing in on recession related benefits. In my experience, the dealer prices weren't discounted much. Additionally, I had to wait nearly a month to get my new 3038e. The dealer said they were backordered due to high demand. He tried to get one for me in a dealer trade & had no luck. The other dealers said they were planning to sell them at or near full retail & wouldn't trade. Not sure all models are this popular, but if the tractor is backordered for a month, JD is obviously selling quite a few of them.

If you need a tractor and can use it, it truly is an investment, even in the rough times.

That is the truth....Priced out the same setup as I bought a year ago (3520/300cx/etc) for my FIL because he's interested, and its over $8,000 price difference...
Like my FIL said...a year ago steel costs were thru the roof...today they are a fraction of what they were, people arent buying, etc.. you would have thought that the prices would have held steady if anything...not an increase that large...

I am starting to believe that 0% or very low financing is becoming normal business practice. 0% was around long before the last 1-2 year recession. Manufactures know that low financing sells units regardless of the product. All they need to do calculate the base price (MSRP) upwards to reflect the loss of income because of the low rate. The risk they take is a default on the loan. They already know the default rate and can also figure that into the MSRP.
If they offer 0% financing and rebates, then they are serious about moving some product.
