So what does the finished cut look like from the betstco, could you cut a lawn with it? Powerwise does it work that b9200 much? Was thinking about getting atleast the 60" or 64" for my tc24d will be cutting 3 or so acres by my pond every 2 to 3 weeks but possibly using it on the lawn too.

i tested a section on my front yard, looked great.
My tractor has 21.5 HP,and it works the the 56" flail mower easily , i could have prolly gotten away getting a 60"

I just received my new flail mower from Betst, and it seems like a pretty good deal. $1000 for a 64" mower, and another $200 for the heavier brush blade kit. Betst is in Oregon, and I'm in Washington, so it arrived in a couple of days. Freight was included in the price, too.
It took about an hour to uncrate it and put it together, and I was able to give it a fairly limited trial yesteday. Western Washington has lots of huckleberry and salal, and the mower goes through that easily enough. My property is uneven, with lots of stumps and such, so a flail seemed like a better choice than a rotary mower for me. A bonus is that it's not as long as a rotary mower, so it leaves the tractor just a bit more maneuverable.
The mower has a two-year warranty, too, which helped me make my decision.

He's asking a good bit more on ebay now compared to what ya'll paid, or did ya'll just bid low?

has anyone found a cheaper place to get blades for these mowers, ive looked around on the flail mower blade sites and picked up a couple catalogs and cant find any blades close enough in size. After seeing other blades for 59cents a pop, paying 30bucks for a pack of 6 seems a little ridiculous.

Which blades are you looking at that are $30 for 6. Are they the wide fine cuts. I have seen the 59 cent blades also but wonder if they are mild steel or hardened. The Y blades for my Mathews just cost me $2.30 each and I have 174 of them. They are a hardened blade. You cant bend them but you can break them.

Thats the price I was given directly from BETST for the reversible Y blades, when I bought the mower I got the spare blades (6) and was charged 30bucks for them. At work we get the cheapest blades for our tiger flails and they sure can take a good beating, usually maybe have to replace about 2 blades in an 8 hour day, somedays not one blade will break, mostly depending on how many hidden rocks you find laying next to the road.

OK, I'm going to have to go for one too. I got out-bit on ebay on a used Alamo SHD74, so I put in a make offer of $900 on the 64". Didn't they used to have a 68" one? Seems like I saw that before on the Betst site, it's not there now. Also, is there a roller on the back like the Carronis, and if so, how high can you raise it? I'm looking to clear brush in some uneven, somewhat rocky areas.
