We haven't had a self-portrait thread in a while. Some of you know I like to play with the camera as much as I do the tractor. I set this up for a camera club topic "footwear".

So, here's my contribution. Feel free to add your own traditional, or non-traditional self-portrait. And yes, this is who I am...

Rob,
Nice work. I love the idea, as well as the execution. How did you put it together?

Well, not nearly as nice as yours, but I happened to have one along similar lines... I tend to take one each time I unload the camera to make sure it is working. :)

Thanks Bob. The short answer is it's seven seperate shots assembled in Photoshop. It ended up being too wide so I added the flipped version at the bottom for some height. If you want more detail than that, let me know.

Moss, I can't tell you how many shots like that I have taken!

That is one cool pix! You have set the bar too high for me and my ugly feet!

I like to take pix as well but most of mine tend to be snapshots taken during my travels around my 6 state territory. I don't have the skill to do work like yours but I do enjoy checking the out! Keep 'em coming!

cool pic rob,
i'm assuming #4 is a walking stick of sorts?
but what are the 2nd from the right?

i'd actually share the skates, work boots, sandals, and
dressier shoes with ya.. but throw in waterski and snow ski
bindings to boot. (no pun intended)

nicely done

:D

Being the clothes horse I am, I wear the same cheap sneakers nearly all the time. Walmart recently increased the price from $10 a pair to $12. I do have some boots for working in the yard in wet weather; maybe as often as 3 or 4 days a year. And I still have some black shoes to wear if I have to go to a funeral (which I try to avoid doing). I wear Dickies short sleeved coveralls year round. I have a couple of pair of slacks and a couple of shirts, again in case I have to go to a funeral.

If it were just up to me, I'd only buy one color of the Dickies coveralls, but just to please my wife, I currently have 4 colors.:( The red one is only worn to pariies, the black ones for fine dining and funerals, and the blue and gray the rest of the time.

Thats funny Bird!! I'm not far behind.

Thanks Dutch. Yes, the stick is a walking stick of sorts, also works as a monopod for the camera. 2nd from right are my cycling shoes.

Sold my waterski a while back and haven't had ski boots out for a couple of years now. Probably should dust those things off someday.

johndeere4300, good choice of color! Especially on this St. Pats day.

Sigarms, cool shot, nice looking fish.

Everyone else, keep those photos coming!

Cool!

But... More camera setup details :D SLR? Lens?

Thanks Robert. A lot of details actually, which made it that much more fun for me. One of the things I succeeded in was shooting on a white background. Never done that before and I had a workshop the other week where they talked about exposure in great detail so I came away with some inspiration. Camera details: Canon 30D w/ 24-70 f2.8L. Manual exposure and custom white balance. Metered the white, set to +2 with aperture of f22 to ensure enough depth of field. All done in my garage with natural light, white seamless background and white tileboard for the base. Was a lot of fun. Got it all set up and let my oldest son be the triggerman.

Roadie Shoes! Mine have cleats on the bottom.:D

Yes, smoothies. My mountain bike still has clips/straps for tennis shoe convenience. Nice enough to ride to work today, love that!

Not often anymore Dutch. I did skate some this year, with the kids. I gave up league play a couple years ago as life just got too crazy. And before you ask, it's been a lot of years since I've used the crampons! The rest get frequent use!

So, where are everyone else's photos?
