B2320 temperature gauge not working?

I have a new B2320 with temperature gauge problems.Ijust returned from dealer who replaced the sending unit, it still won't work.The dealer says it won't regeister until it gets to 200 degrees. I never heard of this?
Can anyone help me?

Might be so.My bx-23 doesnt read,even after ive had the tractor plugged in for a couple hours and steam rolling off the block.aFTER I RUN IT FOR 5 MINUTES THE NEEDLE STARTS CLIMBING

I am curious about this as well. My 2620 never really seems to move up on the gauge. I will be honest I don't pay attention to it that close I just notice that after running the tractor for an hour or more it still really doesn't registar. There are no marks as to what temp is where on the gauge, but it really doesn't seem to move up.

My B2320 acts exactly as jbrier describes.

On my BX23, the wire attached to sensor on the engine would come off a little. Just enough that it would do what you guys are saying. I finally got the connector squeezed good enough that now the temperature gauge works fine. Even around freezing it will visibly move the dial to luke-warm position.

On my 2620 I dont have this problem. The gauge works and moves up accordingly. I did check a lot while operating in the summer/fall months as some jobs I was doing the tractor was on for hrs. at a time. I havnt used yet in winter but I have gone out to the barn recently and fired her up and kept running till I brought it up to temp. and the gauge did move up some so not sure if this is a problem you guys are expirencing due to cold weather or if something is just faulty. I noticed this in the summer. I wasn't sure if something was wrong or I was just taking it really easy on the tractor trying to break it in. Sounds like something is probably wrong.

I will have to check the sensor connector. Thanks Spike23.

I agree somthing may be wrong. It seems odd several of us have experienced this but In light of all the posts in other threads about the QC of the new B's, I wouldn't be surprised. Where is the temp sensor at on these tractors?

I have a B2620 and the temperature guage registers just to the to the top of the cold area but never moves higher into the normal operating zone. I thought I had a thermostat problem bbut by the sounds of it I now think the guage is not calibrated well or is mismatched. It' not a serious problem but on a new tractor guagues should work. I'll be asking my dealer about it.

I also have a B2920 with a temp gauge that don't seem to work. I am taking it to dealer for service soon so I will have them check it out. Also, my quick hitch finally arrived. ( 6 mos late ) I haven't mounted it yet. I hope it fits.

The temp needle on my B2320 just barely moves off the bottom of the gauge. I assumed that this was just the way that it was. It sounds as if it may be yet another quality issue on my new B. After running the tractor with the blower really hard, it is plenty warm, the hoses are hot, tanks on the radiator are hot, but the temp needle barely moves. Those who are taking to their dealer to have this looked into, please let the rest of us know what you come up with.

While doing the 50 hr service on my B2320, I checked the temp sensor wire and it appeared to be very tight. I'm starting to think this is normal for the B2X20 series.

My M9000 did that when it was new. It had to have the instrument cluster changed out to fix it.

I just checked mine, I've got a 2920. Never really paid much attention to it, but I was on the tractor for about 45 min and the needle went from the bottom of C to the top of C. I find that a bit odd since it is finally above freezing outside.

My B2320 is very different to the BX2350 I had in this regard. The 2350 would run very close to hot when mowing. Anyone know the spec's on the thermostat for the B series?

Ditto. My new B3030 stays below or at "C" after hours of work at 2000 rpm.

I had the same symptoms. Sometimes the gauge would not move. Other days it got to 1/2 the operating temperature.

I found that the spade portion of the electrical connector on the sending unit was not staked onto the rivet securely. A little work with a small hammer and a center punch solved that problem. By the way, I also informed Kubota that their manufacturing process for this component is apparently not well controlled.

Ditto on the Temp Guage, my B2320 sometimes barely registers other times stays down.....will have to check this out soon....
