Rimshot, I see your point. The bucket setup looks great. Do you have any difficulty with visualizing the tips of the forks for placement while you're sitting in the operator's seat?

Hi bx24D,

I suppose if visibility of fork bars is an issue the pin model is the way to go. If I skewer the refrigerator with my new forks I think I shall blame the spotter I shall be certain to employ and watch up close as I move to get into lifting position. There's no way I would trust my steadiness without somebody watching. But I don't think fork tip visibility is going to be a show stopper anyway. The first thing I do if heavy lifting is in order will be to raise an old pallet slightly just short of the pickup truck tail gate premounted on tractor forks. Something like a refrig or washer/ dryer can then be manhandled from the tail gate down to the pallet. That will diminish chances of screwing up........even for a clutz like me.

I finally bought a set of LandPride PF10 clamp on forks for moving mulch bales 5 at a time on a pallet which I attached to the forks, so when the bales arrived at the compost pile I could just dump them and go back and load 5 more onto the pallet...moved over two hundred that way...had to tighten the forks twice...for a simple one-off task they worked well...;)

This works for me, cost less than $120 and has held 500 lbs. so far.

Is that just channel iron for the forks and frame? Nice setup. I only need lightweight lifting and this looks like something I could build myself.

Do you have additional photos?

Thanks,

Clem
