Welcome from a fellow Mainer. I think you made a good choice, good luck with it and post some pics!

Congrat's on the new BX. I would have made the same choice on 24 vs 25 for the price difference, though I do find the abrupt stopping in reverse rather anoying. Can't believe they let that out to market that way.

So tell me about the quick hitch - is this for the bucket? I didn't think Kubota made a quick detach bucket for the BX. Maybe you're referring to a 3PH quick hitch??

The quick hitch is for the front mounted snowblower. It mounts where the brush guard is so the brush guard (as well as the FEL bucket) has to come off for the winter. Then snowblower and quick hitch come off in the spring, and the brush guard goes back on. Doesn't sound very quick to me but that's the Kubota blower I guess.

I haven't received the snow blower yet so I can't vouch for the quick hitch business; it's just what the delivery guy told me. But Kubota adds the quick hitch item whenever you order a blower so it make sense. I think. I'll see when they show up to install it.

'No extra HP on the BX25... same engine. You basically get ...
- a moving bucket at idle
-metal hood, fenders, etc
-no jerky stop in reverse.

I like the improvements and would have went for the 25 if it had more some real improvement. As it was, I am quite happy with keeping my $2K, idling the engine up and easing the gas of in reverse.

For me, I would keep the $$$$ on the BX24. But in the end, it is you that needs to be happy. I would have been happy with my BX22 just as my BX24.

With the mower the price would be about $16500 to $17000.
Sure glad I bought my BX23 with a 60" MMM when I did for $15500.

Keith, A few days ago, I was talking to a dealer in upstate NY; he was selling a new BX24 for $15,000 (before taxes).

Instead of a ballast box, I opted for a rear blade for pulling snow away from the garage. .

I use a 40'' wide blade clamped on the BH bucket for that and pulling dirt and other stuff away from buildings and ditches etc.

LB, that was good value indeed.

Further, your BX23 (loader, backhoe, mower) are all built much stronger than their newer equivalents.

Thank you everyone for advice on buying my new BX24. Now that it's here I've offically registered for TBN.

I went after a BX25 (they had 3) but for $1700 less, it was a no-brainer. All mods/fixes were done: seat upgraded, floor-reinforced, etc. The jerky reverse is only in high-range and controllable for me. Did I say $1700 less expensive to boot?

My dealer adds a block heater, rear work light, and a welded center bucket hook to every BX @ no cost. (OK it's in their price somewhere, I'll admit) Price was good and delivery was in 2 days from purchase. Blower is on order as well as the quick hitch but they will drive out to install tham and also drive out to do the 50 hour service.

I've had the bucket on and off twice. Today I will try the BH install after I take off the 3PH.

Anyone fit a soft cab (from snow blowing) on their BX24?

Still grinning form ear-to-ear.

I am also a new bx24 owner. I have tried to get in the habbit of reducing rpm when backing up and/or pulling up on forward peddle rather than mashing reverse peddle. I use the bx everyday for something - can't believe I waited so long to get one. Just sold my John Deere riding mower so now I can purchase more toys for my tractor.

Purchased my BX24 last year and have 120 hours on it now...loving every second. It's not often, when buying this type of equipment, you can look back a year and still feel you made the smart item and financial choice. After reading this thread, I'm not drooling over the B3030 as much anymore.
