MX4700 Kubota
4800 Actually
Model Year: 2015

Sorry, there is not a MX4800DT - 4WD in drop down menu, so I’m going as close as I can. I looked at HST, but decided on gear due to the price. It is a great tractor so far. It is tier 4, but has not entered Regen yet at 20 hours. I installed a quick hitch from Woods and that I hope is helpful. I've done lots of mowing on my property and some front-end loader work. The tractor has done all that I've asked. Most of the mowing has been shoulder high weeds and set the RPM at 540 speed (2700) and gear at 2/Low and let it creep. There is no bogging or stalling. This was my first tractor purchase and although I looked at every color, I am very pleased that I went with Kubota.

Pros: Power and Simplicity
Cons: None yet

Handy MX 4700
Model Year: 2012

I am happy with the tractor. It does everything I need it to do. The private road to my house is gravel. I contribute to snow clearing, grading and road maintenance. I harvest logs [lumber] from the woodlot. Load logs [firewood] into my 5x10 ft dumping trailer and transport it home [45 minute drive by tractor]. It is generally a handy thing to have around. I'v got the FEL, rear blade, rear scarifier, Norse 290 winch, forks [front], work platform [front].

Pros: I like the safety features.
Cons: Note >> I'm not a mechanic. Not easy to tap into the electrical to add things like flood lights, heater, rear view camera.

MX4700 Kubota
Kubota, Still Made by Kubota
Model Year: 2011

So, the boy is out of college and I can finally afford to replace my 1956 Ford 800. I looked for more than a year at everything and I am very happy with the Kubota MX4700. I got the quick de-tatch front end loader and the back-hoe with 4WD and industrial tires. It's all solid.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: The back-hoe takes at least an hour to hook up.

My MX 4700
Model Year: 2012

All in all, I am very pleased and satisfied with the tractor. Kubota quality and engineering is top notch. I own 2 other Kubota products, a B7100 I've had for almost 20 years, and an RTV. Have had very good luck with all my Kubotas.

Pros: High quality in all respects. Good performance.
Cons: No complaints.

MX4700 Kubota
Excellent Deal
Model Year: 0

I usually buy used equipment, but this was such a deal new ($13,400) that I couldn't pass it up. I did have to drive 300 miles to pick it up. I had the dealer set this up for row crop, with tall skinny tires (13.6x28). Like my other Kubotas, it's utterly dependable so far. I had considered a Massey Ferguson 2615, but couldn't come close on the price. I also looked at some Mahindras; they seemed to be crudely built. The price didn't include any front weights, which clearly are necessary; I had to 'borrow' some off another tractor. The independent PTO seems to be a plus over a live PTO; if you've ever had to replace a two-stage clutch in a Kubota you'll know what I mean.

Pros: Solid, reliable machine, well built, great price.
Cons: A couple of plastic panels on it; Would prefer steel.

MX4700HST TLB
Model Year: 2012

Has great power, needs parking brake light, seams like it will be a great dirt machine but time will tell with just 5 hrs on the clock. Has cat 2 lift arms but comes with bushings for cat 1 use.

Pros: Power, metal hood and fenders, R4 tires up front are wide.
Cons: A little light in the rear end with backhoe removed, 4700 only has one handle on fenders, 5100 comes with both. No seat adjustment for BH92 backhoe you must move the frame for adjustment.

Tractor is still new. Only have 10 hours on it. So far so good. It works well for pushing up brush piles. I've had to pull a couple of trucks out that got stuck in the mud. That's about it so far. I do like everything about the tractor so far. I think I made the right choice for my needs.

Pros: Love the HST.
Cons: Payment book.

MX4700 Kubota
Kubota MX 4700 Worth the Investment
Model Year: 2011

This rating would be 5 stars across the board but for a couple of minor issues that cropped up in the first 100 hours. This tractor has been a pleasure; Powerful enough for all ice asked of it, dependable (one kill switch bent by debris is only flaw so far - lil' switches should be better shielded/tougher) We debated whether to get HST. We did and I'm glad we chose to do so. It helps that our dealer is absolutely top notch!

Pros: Powerful, dependable.
Cons: Kill switches should be better protected.

MX4700 Kubota
Great Power to Value
Model Year: 2011

I own a 18ac horse farm that 15 of that is overgrown with hardwoods, stumps, brush all over. Very capable tractor, mine is outfitted with R4tires,loaded, front and rear remotes, Fel, 4wd.I can push over just about most brush and small trees(6" or less) with ease. Lifts 6ft+ hay bales with no effort, good traction but needs weight in the rear on wet days. Although it is missing some creature comforts of the other models, you sacrifice some "cushiness" for more grunt and a wider beefier tractor. The operator station is laid out well, with everything within easy reach.Wide foot deck is easy on the feet for long periods of time operating. One reviewer commented on his steering issues, well being in SC as well, with the clay mud we have I would not dream of a front loader tractor of any kind with 2wd and trying to do cleanup work. I for one am extremely happy with my purchase and have begun talking my Father in law out of his John Deere and going Kubota.

Pros: Power per dollar, FEL well made, easy operation.
Cons: A bit light in the rear.

MX4700 Kubota
Mean Brush Movin' Machine
Model Year: 2010

I replaced a John Deere 955 with the Kubota, primarily because I needed a heavier tractor to manage a brush grapple blade. I've got lots of trees crowding out the fields around my farm. This machine must have ballast in the rear tires (I have about 400# of beet juice in each), and I then add and 800# box blade to really keep the rear end down. Configured that way, it can really move brush. This is a 3 range hydrostatic transmission. I cut down 4 to 6 " trees, cut them again at the first branches and just pick them up and move them to a pile. I've moved 18" walnut logs 10 feet long. The loader has great lift capacity, and in 4x4 low range, the tractor can push huge piles of trees and branches together for burning. Traction in 4x4 is excellent. I just finished 2 days at a friend's farm, consolidating and burning about 20 large brush piles and sorting fence posts and wire from the ashes, mostly from the tractor seat. I also use the box blade to repair erosion ditches in the planted fields after harvest, to create waterways, and to core out above dry dams. I decided on the 4700 instead of the 5100 (only difference is turbocharger), and spent the money difference on hydraulics - 3 rear remotes and Tilt N Trim on the 3 point hitch. The tractor easily clears snow, even very large drifts. It also handles a 7' brush cutter mower with no difficulty. It's great machine.

Pros: Great power and traction.
Cons: Lots of weight on front end with loader. You'll tip it over without a lot of ballast.

MX4700 Kubota
Great Tractor- but is useless with the LA844 Loader!
Model Year: 2010

2009 Kubota MX4700 with less than 35 hours. Loader equipped 2WD model. When new, the steering worked flawlessly. Carried 800# on loader while steering with one finger. At around 15 hours, the steering began to LOCK one way or the other anytime a load was on the bucket or forks. Doesn't seem to matter how much weight.... even 350# causes the steering to lock. Added RPM's make NO difference. Neither does dropping the loader back to the ground. Problem seems more pronounced in warmer weather (80+ degrees). Once the steering locks, you have to set the load down, back up (steering still locked), and shut the tractor down for several minutes. Restart... 90% of the time normal steering function returns. Been round and round with local dealer, Kubota Technical and Field Rep. Filters replaced, pressures checked, counterweights added, tire pressures checked, etc. etc. Last communication with them was told "2 wheel drive tractor with loader won't steer with load on loader... you should have 4 wheel drive model". Offered to upgrade to 4 wheel drive for "X amount of dollars". Still going on after 6 months.... called the field rep last week and said we'd agree to the upgrade (don't really NEED 4WD, but if it solves the problem... that is what we need to do). Told me the dealer would call us..... but no call after one week. Really beginning to get aggravated.... love the tractor, but it kindof defeats the purpose of having a loader and forks IF YOU CAN'T STEER!!! Dealer has claimed everything from "we don't know how to operate it" to "you picked the wrong tractor" to "mis-use". Ongoing saga.... hopefully it will be resolved so we can get some use out of our $21K+ investment!

Pros: Starts, runs flawlessly- well geared
Cons: Steering system is HORRIBLE, and sometimes INOPERABLE.
