    Mowing Finish mower use?

Roughly 5 horsepower per foot; however a finish mower at least seems to offer a little more flexibility. I'd attribute this to it's regular use as lawn or field maintenance, as opposed to clearing overgrown areas.

I've spent a lot of recreational time around windmills, despite my loathing of them, and I've never seen one lose a blade. That would be terrifying. What I oddly enjoy is the very odd noise they make; a lot of folks find it un-nerving, and I suppose I did at first too, but they're kind of...

It is rather annoying that they've got that caveat in the marketing; I don't understand why, given the manuals with the equipment rate it at full height from the pin, something like ~95 inches. Now the worst thing Kioti ever did was create the KL2610 loader; what a piece that was, and the...

Kioti CK3520SE vs TYM (Branson) 3620H

I mean if you're going on specs, a 20 series TYM will out work a Kioti CK all day long; the TYM is a larger frame size, and therefore a more capable machine. The only way the two will compare is on PTO horsepower.

So I re-read your post; what has you settled on these two? They're quite different. I've got a CK myself, a 2610, and it's a great little tractor. Excellent hydraulics; however, the TYM would naturally be superior in that regard, it's a larger machine.

I watched that one a while back and really enjoyed it; he really goes into the plus/minus of the machine. What blows my mind is the half-assed Chinese cooling system rigged to the Kubota diesel. If this fellow wasn't so mechanically inclined he would have been screwed.
  131. tacticalturnip

Old box blade for garden tractor on my new SCUT?

Nope; sell it, buy a proper one. A subcompact tractor will eat that Brinly. It's a good product, but wrong class of equipment; not to mention it won't cover the track of the machine.
  132. tacticalturnip

    Ck3520 HST price

That's not bad at all these days. I paid $27k for a CK2610 outfitted like an SE 2 or 3 years ago; so between inflation, a higher horsepower engine, and the SE package I'd say $33k feels right. Go take those specs and price out a Deere or Kubota... 🤢

Just noticed today.... so many trailer campers on home sites.

I have nothing good to say about this.
  134. tacticalturnip

    3rd function

You may be right, you may be wrong, lol; I had to build my 2610 the way I wanted it. The new machines, SE or not, are all pre-wired for it- and that's pretty cool.
  135. tacticalturnip

    3rd function

I don't recall them over coming with a 3rd function; are you thinking of rear remotes?
  136. tacticalturnip

lock n lube vs power lube

This. I won't talk down any other type, but I will say out of all the grease guns and fittings I've used, Lock N Lube is the easiest and most convenient. I've been nothing but impressed.
  137. tacticalturnip

What water bottle do you have?

Between me, my wife, and my children, we have quite the assortment. They've got bottles of all kinds, I might grab one, but just as often I'll fill a coffee thermos with water.
  138. tacticalturnip

    3rd function

You know, I don't remember what I paid for mine, but on the CK-10 series they didn't have the buttons pre-wired on the SCV arm. So I would at least think that would save some on the price. This new Kioti setup looks nice; back when I purchased my tractor the dealer recommended the W.R. Long...

    Safely transporting a pet

Well, easy enough; crew cab truck, put the seats up. When I get out, put the windows down a little and make sure the 40/20/40 split bench is up, and they're confined to the back. Of course this does nothing to contain hair, but it works otherwise.
  140. tacticalturnip

    Blueberries

I just saw this thread; the missus brought home two bushes last weekend. They're a first for me.

Just noticed today.... so many trailer campers on home sites.

We sure are running backwards into the fire.
  142. tacticalturnip

    Branson 2610h float option?

You have to push past that point; they don't want you accidentally dropping the loader into float.

What do you drive for a truck?

Men are women, women are men, and if my wife's Kia identifies as a forklift so be it. 🤣
  144. tacticalturnip

Old trucks can still tow! My numbers

I'd trust a 4.3 to do more towing in the long term than any turbo 4; there is no science behind it, just personal opinion and bias, lol. You've got a good truck.
  145. tacticalturnip

What do you drive for a truck?

Lots of intersectionality here, like a modern college campus. I used to haul firewood in the trunk of a 1986 Crown Victoria; it saw more use as a truck than a lot of the pickups owned by my peers at the time. Though I suppose that it was just a lame sedan, with it's anemic 5.0, lol.
  146. tacticalturnip

What do you drive for a truck?

So you're going to say this and not post pictures of what I presume is a Ram TRX? Rude. 🤣

CLANGING in the front diff of brand new T494....what the heck

Call a local news channel, explain the situation to them; they'll eat this up, and you'll find a resolution. Most affiliate stations have some form of consumer protection department; our local CBS station calls it 'On Your Side.'
  148. tacticalturnip

What do you drive for a truck?

I'm not reaching here, this isn't a hill I'm trying to die on, your arguments have just been poor thus far. I would make the informal argument that a truck in the traditional North American sense was a body-on-frame, front-engine, rear-wheel drive vehicle (typically with the option of a...

Here is a fun one; this was my wife's when we married, and it was a fun ride.

What do you drive for a truck?

I never called it a pickup, I called it a truck, and I did so for a reason.
  152. tacticalturnip

What do you drive for a truck?

Different states would differ; here in Maine an S-10 Blazer and a Silverado half-ton are both passenger cars, but that doesn't make either a Mercury Sable. I'm not speaking of how your state organizes vehicles into different registrations, I don't care how they want to tax things. I'm speaking...
  153. tacticalturnip

Old trucks can still tow! My numbers

That's so foreign to me; as long as you're under 10k you can run passenger plates all day, over that you need 'commercial' plates. I basically have passenger plates on my F350, and it's totally cool so long as I don't go over 10k pounds GCWR. I can only speak for Maine, though. Ironically, at...

    S-10 Blazer had a full-frame; certainly a truck by modern standards. 😉

Best Everything Attachments (EA) Alternative? Landscape Rake, etc.

Bush Hog makes sturdy landscape rakes, varying sizes and weights, though they're a little pricey.
  156. tacticalturnip

Old trucks can still tow! My numbers

The '99-'07 GM trucks are among my favorite, great workhorses and good family vehicles too. I owned 4 of them over the years. That said, where do you live to have separate registration classes for a half-ton pickup?
  157. tacticalturnip

What do you drive for a truck?

I don't know what your truck is, but it sounds fun, and I enjoy fun. [EDIT]: I, obviously, missed the photo that is there now. That is cool.
  158. tacticalturnip

What do you drive for a truck?

It's a small tractor, but a tractor none the less; the Ridgeline is a small truck, but a truck none the less. The Ridgeline won't do all the things my F350 can do, but frankly, my F350 will never do all the things my F350 can do. My basic needs could be met with a Ridgeline, it's just not my...

EA grapple not an option now what?

Folks, if you're going to insult one another, at least put some effort into it. I've heard considerably more creative vitriol out of my 13 year olds peers.

    Adding euro three point hooks

Oh wow, Pika, that is impressive.

What loader and bucket? I'd recommend the 66" bucket.
  166. tacticalturnip

    CS2220 vs CX2510

Amen. In a tractor this small you'll never get the maximum lift out of the loader without ballast; these machines will lift a lot, but without counterweight you'll find your arse end in the air long before then. Personally, I run loaded tires and a box blade, as I don't like the single use...
  167. tacticalturnip

    I hate to see this...

I'll also say this, we know our children more than anyone else. By age 6, my oldest had his own little lawn tractor, sans deck; my youngest? Nah, nope, he got a Power Wheels tractor; that little turd is far too daring for his own good.
  168. tacticalturnip

    I hate to see this...

I'm just going to say that as a tractor guy I wouldn't let my 8 year old operate a zero-turn; as an adult I found myself quite surprised at how fast those things move the first time I operated one. That's not a tractor, in a child's hands it seems more an armed go-kart.

    2022 Bronco sport review

I love that interior; it's great when you've got dogs, and it's why I like the basic interior of my truck. You guys will get a lot out of this new Ford.

  177. tacticalturnip

    1/10th Hours

1/10 of an hour is 6 minutes; for example, 6/10 would be 36 minutes of engine run time. It's literally just the minutes until the next hour is added to the clock. 🍻

    CS2220 vs CX2510

Hooking up isn't the problem, clearance is; that is what makes them 'limited' Category 1.
  180. tacticalturnip

    I feel stupid

@SmallChange that is extremely impressive, I wouldn't have given any thought to setting up something so useful in such a small place; it seems so, industrial, on a miniature scale.
  181. tacticalturnip

What did you do for your tractor today?

    Mitsubishi made. 😉

If you don't mind, would you post a picture of this setup? It's not something I'm about to copy, but the idea sounds really inventive.
  183. tacticalturnip

    CS2220 vs CX2510

The CX is your sweet spot, and from the sound of it you know that; now, to get him on board. If you're insistent on one machine the CK wouldn't be for you. You can mow your lawn with it, of course, but you don't want to; it's not a lightweight. How is your property? Is it hilly? Rutted...
  184. tacticalturnip

    CS2220 vs CX2510

You'll never regret the CX over the CS; that said, just how heavy are these bales? You may find the CS to not even be an option if they outweigh the small machines abilities. Have you looked at the CK2620 (or a leftover CK2610)? Are you two insistent that all this be done with one machine? A...

What did you do for your tractor today?

New ballast is always a welcome addition! Today I ordered loader stops and a Piranha bar for the Kioti; next comes filters and oil to make up for a little neglect.

That looks quite rugged; stout was mentioned prior, I think that's a good assessment from afar.

    2022 Bronco sport review

I love that, even buying used, you color matched to the Ranger. 🤣 I look forward to seeing how the Bronco Sports works out for you. I really like them on principle, but I'm a giant so I have long ruled them out. They're quite handsome vehicles, and your dogs obviously approve of the interior.

Yes, yes I am; it's got me this far.
  189. tacticalturnip

Piranha or Piranha Pro for CK2610?

With an MX I think you're a prime target for the Pro! I took to thinking about it and decided to go with the standard Piranha; my need for a factory look is outweighed by my wallet and a bit of mulling. I placed the order. I am definitely looking forward to mounting it on the Kioti.
