He bought it spring of 2010.
Wow, either they still haven't got it quite right, or maybe his machine isn't set up just right. I've seen a bunch of positive feedback regarding Gravelys, although I don't recall of any was 160 specific. Has your dad checked it out regarding deck level both front-to-back and side-to-side? I've read where some folks say the cut is better, regardless of brand, if the leading edge is about 1/4"(?) lower than the rear. Also, tire pressure can be a huge factor. Maybe bounce some ideas off of your dealer.

He's happy with it and loves it, I've seen some of the accounts he mows and I think it is rather horrible. My opinion vs. his on that one but his customers don't complain.
His last mower was a Toro Z 449 with a 52" mulching deck, most beautiful cut I've ever seen.

I've got the Ferris 1500 I purchased used (VERY) from my BIL, who's son runs a landscaping business. He bought a Gravely to replace the Ferris. The Ferris now has over 1100 hours on it from my son, my neighbor, and myself running it. There are times lately I do notice a 1 inch or so pair of "tracks" where it appears the blades are missing. I'm thinking it's time to replace the blades and check the spindle alignment. Even so, I will replace it with another Ferris at some point.

My BIL says his son misses the Ferris...;)
