I got a quote on a set of replacement blades from my local dealer of about $70. That seams pretty high to me, what do you all think?

Thanks,
Rob

We had tried to use other make blades then the Kubota blades and our customers found faster wear, or shorter life some times less then half. The steel used in their blades makes them one of our better units for long life blades.
Being a multi line dealer and being able to compare them with other makes they are not over priced.

I didn't get any shocked responses so I am going to assume that is an ok price and pick them up.

Thanks.

I wish I knew, but I haven't had to purchase any as of yet... Sorry I'm no help.

I think that price is reasonable for good quality steel. Try owning a Patu Wood Chipper; it's has 3 blades which cost $130 a piece to replace.

I don't know if they have exactly what you are looking for, but Agri-Supply :

Kubota

carries blades for what seems like everything (at least to me). They seemed cheap to me when I bought some for my general riding mower, but I can't tell you if the steel is really any good or not. So far they have been ok on my moderate yard (Craftsman mower though).

Might be worth a check. Maybe others here can say if they will wear out sooner like the above post implied.

Thank you all for the responses. I think I paid a bit more than I could have gotten them from other sources but I went ahead and bought them from my local dealer. Now I need to figure out how to remove those 30mm nuts! I was thinking a fairly strong impact wrench. How do you all remove and replace yours?

Thanks again for the great info.

I use an electric impact wrench.

Only mowed three times with my ZD323 so far, so I haven't needed to change blades. But I usually use an air impact.
I had Gators put on before I picked it up. They gave me the OEM blades to take home so I can't compare and say if they they made a difference or not. But I can say it cuts better than anything I've used before.
