ZD-21 transmission kit

Hey everyone,

I have a 2003 - ZD21.About a year after I purchased.I started hearing about transmission issues.I have talked to our local dealer 5 times over the past several years.They keep telling me there's nothing to worry about.It's now due for 150 hr service.I told them I wanted to update the transmission with a kit that will resolve this problem.Parts people didn't even know a kit existed!! I have read other posts stating this kit needs to be installed or your transmission will fail.Anyone out there have any good advice? I want someone who know what their doing/not their first time.Do I drive this thing 2 states away to a dealer who can do it?Please advise.Thanks

Re: new ZD21 owner Sounds like you did good, I bought a ZD21 w/520 hrs last fall for $3995. It had the trans replaced, the early ZD21s had trans problems if used on hills so they upgraded them and extended the warranty. The service department stressed keeping the trans overfilled to the top of the flat on the dipstick, the newer ones are not affected by this.
