Z665 JD Zero Trun

Just got my Z665, working fine,,,, reading up in the manual.
Transmission oil says it is 10W-30 , [not transmission oil] So, it takes regular 10w-30 motor oil ,, not transmission or hydraulic oil ?
Motor is a 27HP,,,, Briggs/Stratt [ Sure looks like one,,, no mfg reference ]
I am a fan of straight 30W oil for air cooled motors,,,,, any problems with using 30w oil instead of 10w30

Double check with dealer. New model may get wrong info in the manual i guess. I don't see why you don't just use 10w30 in the engine though. Irrc my manual says no need to change the hydraulic oil, but mines is an older z465.

1. Not changing oil,,,,,topping off fluid level,,,, 10w-30 motor oil for transmission just sounds weird.
2. Do not understand why multi-grade oil for a lawn mower motor,,, that never sees cold weather,,,, I have always used straight 30w in air cooled motors.
