YT235 PTO brake?

Can anyone tell me if the YT235 has a built-in PTO brake?

I just added a Wood Maxx WM-8H chipper to the other heavy rotating implements I have and I’m concerned that the 200 pound flywheel on that unit may require the use of a PTO clutch. If it doesn’t require the use of one I’d rather keep things simple and save the driveline length.

I can’t find anything in the manual and I can’t seem to get anyone at Yanmar to return my calls.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

For something like that you will need what is called a slip-clutch. It is installed on the implement's PTO driveline.

I’m familiar with the slip clutches but this unit already comes with a shear bolt for excessive load. I’m more concerned with the weight of the flywheel causing access wear to the PTO brake if the tractor has one installed.

Just as I hit send my phone rang. It was Yanmar Support. According to them the YT235 does not have a PTO brake so no overrunning clutch is required. Hopefully that’s correct information. It could get spendy if that’s incorrect.
