Is it possible to utilize an over-running clutch with the YQM-48 belly mower on the YM147D? Actually, I am wondering if it's needed at all as well. Thank you.

That's an American model Yanmar, no? You might already have an over-running clutch.

Unhook the mower and try turning its pto (on the tractor) backward. Or just turn the blade(s) backward if you can. If you hear clicking like a bicycle coasting along, that's the over-running clutch working as it should. This test works on a rear pto and should work on a belly pto as well.

California,

It is an American model. The PTO has no implements on it, so I will attempt to turn it backwards as you recommend. The mower attaches to the rear PTO when installed. Thank you.

Winston1,

Thanks for the link. I didn't realize they provided that information.
