I have burned them in a outside boiler. I just filled up a 50lb sunflower seed bag and threw the whole thing in, lasted 12 hrs. I use them for garden mulch, fill in low spots in woods road. Some people perfer organic mulch, so there is a sales market for them.

So far, I've used it only for mulch. I could use 3 times what I've got, so no problem getting rid of the stuff.

I'll be using mine for mulch - like Cliff I could use way more than what I have so no problem getting rid of it.

I use it for mulch and trails. I've chipped well over 10 yards in the last year and can't make it fast enough to keep up with use.

I thought that tilling them into the soil bound up the nitrogen. I scrape them off when planting or cultivating around the garden, but use them liberally as a top dressing mulch.
I also use chips as mulch for fruit trees, on walking paths, and they are great for keeping dust down on roads and trails in summer and to absorb some moisture from wet areas during the winter.

Yep, I've heard that, but I did it anyway and had a fine garden. Of course I did have some old cow manure and some rabbit manure I tilled in also.

I've been chipping for years and have used most of the chipped/shredded material as mulch in my veggie garden and mulch in other areas. I put it down for moisture and weed control. It turns to dirt for the next season.
Wouldn't hurt to add a little bit of 10-10-10 fertilizer to bring the C:N ratio down. Haven't computed really how much to use in typical shreddings because they vary so much in composition. In sawdust, I use 1 bag of 10-10-10 for 2 barrels of sawdust to bring the C:N ratio down to about 25-30. Sawdust is the only mulch component that I add the fertilizer to. The other shreddings just get mixed in with the sawdust.
