Your towing rigs and trailers

Most would think going out of his way during off hours would make it right. No need to take money out of someone's pocket when they're doing the right thing...

Exactly. I hate when people think they're always owed something for the simplest of errors.

If I see your trying, that's all I can ask for.

Brought home a new JD 2025R last night. I took the straps off and was ready to unload it when I realized the key didn't work. Of course this was at almost 5:00 P.M. The dealer ran out but didn't bring the correct keys. Ran back to the shop and got the right ones. Of course this took almost an hour. He apologized and I told him if that's the worst thing that happens while I own this tractor it will be O.K.

What happened to the key that was used to load the tractor?

Exactly, seems the guy that delivered passed the attitude test. Then he cut into his own evening to solve the problem. Gotta like that.

After a long time of deliberation on what dump trailer to buy, I finally ended up with a 5000 lb single axle sure trac dump trailer.

My choice was specific for my circumstances. I use it for work and park in alot of NYC parking garages, not an easy feat. I find the single axle much more maneuverable, especially in really tight areas. Tolls were another issue, to cross the bridge with my truck and single axle is $51.00. Thats not a typo. Another axle is $17 more, $68 per trip. That really adds up over the year. We lease family SUVs, that see double duty for work and famlily, so it had to be towable by a mid size SUV. Lastly, each piece of my equipment fits in the trailer, with proper balance.

One week after my purchase and I would have loved to test drive the Lamar 7000 lb single axle dump, but all in all I am very pleased.

I got the Curt echo brake controller and love it. The flexibility to change tow vehicles so easily is awesome.

Needing a dump trailer and going in NYC parking garages seem like polar opposites to me... Nice trailer though.

We went to NYC once for Farmaid. It was like Ma and Pa Kettel hit the city. I wouldn't enjoy working with a truck/trailer there. We have 9 stoplights in the county I live in. My hats off to you. Looks like you the right choice.

back when my dad was running the show we had a fair number of jobs in NYC, we'd have to hire an extra guy just to watch the truck/trailer, equipment, figure at least one parking ticket. I now refuse to go into the city

Most of our jobs are big enough that we get permits to take between 2 and 10 parking spots for months at a time. Much better than dealing with alternate side and tickets.
