Your towing rigs and trailers

I think my clearance is ok. I had the trailer and truck perpendicular and then some to each other just the other day and no hitting. Haven't got out and looked just how close it is.

When you get a chance will you take pic of the bar setup holding your ramps. I need to do something like that to mine.

Sure will, I will try and get them for ya tomorrow. I drilled the ramps and the sides of the trailer and bolted in some cat. 1, 3ph lift pins and then welded them in place. Drilled some flat bar out to hold them up. I can now haul 17 rolls on a 30 foot trailer.

The clearance that I referred to, is over the tailgate. When the front of the truck goes down, the back comes up. If you drove across the terraced hay field were we used to live, the first terrace would dent your tailgate, then your truck would stop moving when the dovetail hit it, leaving the trailer axles in the air.

The same thing can happen on-road, like a steep driveway with a sharp breakover angle at the top.

This is the clearance on my rig.

Since I purchased my trailer I have run into so many times that I needed it to be another foot longer but if I atleast have a ramp setup like yours I can eliminate some of the headache

Mine came with chains, so you can adjust the angle of the ramps and a 4' popup dovetail.

Nope, too busy moving, had to keep the horses away from the house, barn and shop. We hired a local fence installer.

The rails are about 15' long and slide together,

Very nice! That's a 20' PJ right? I've seen it in other posts? How has it been doing? Any complaints? Thinking about getting one. I like the deck over.

Did you ever get that deckover? I have been looking at one but just have not pulled the trigger. what I have been looking for would be like a rollback wrecker but on a trailer. may have to settle on a deckover tilt with a winch.
