Your towing rigs and trailers

/ Your towing rigs and trailers #201
The day I brought home the new toy! L4240HST, FEL, and BH90. Trailer is 18foot including the dovetail at 10,400 lb capacity. What you don't see is the 2004 GMC 2500 HD doing the work. Not sure the total weight of the tractor and attachments, tractor has fluid in tires too, trailer is a little over 2000 lbs, but I think it is pretty much near the limit of the trailer.
I am using the stock hitch (7500 lbs capacity without weight distribution). Because of the weight and the way it pulls I believe I need to change hitch or go to a weight distributing setup. I have a weight distributing set up for my camper. I would need to add the levers where the chains attach to the tongue.
What are y'alls thoughts?

Here is my 2004 F-250 4x4 PSD with my 18' utility trailer and a load of wood for a deck project. Also there is a picture of my 2006 F-350 4x4 PSD and my big boat. I don't have a picture of my F-150 4x4, my 1999 F-250 4x4 PSD, or my small boat. They are on my work computer but I will post one of each.

Has that Bug Smasher proved itself to be effective or has it turned out to be a fashion statement? I was wanting to get one for my F-250 SD PSD but wondered if if did much to deflect bugs. I have had them on other vehicles and with the varying aerodynamics of the various vehicles, sometimes they work pretty well and on other vehicles they don't do much at all.

Hey Hemiguy,

With the sideboards on your trailer, how do you tie your JD down? I have basically the same setup and need some thoughts on tie-down. Through the floor?

Thanks... BD

Pictures of my '04 RAM Q-Cab, JD2520 TLB, and 16', 7000# Topbrand trailer. I added the wood sides for hauling stuff like tree limbs/brush, bagged mulch, firewood, etc.

Note that even a small frame TLB like mine just barely fits on the 16' trailer. Next rig will probably be a 3/4 ton PU (Cummins maybe:cool: ) and 20', 10,000#. I have visions of adding a skid loader sometime in the future.

I am not sure to be honest. I put them on all of my trucks in the first week to prevent hood chips. This truck came home on the day I bought it and in that 35 miles I had a rock flip up and hit the hood. I went strait to TSC and got the shield then back to the dealer for a day of paint to fix the hood. Made me sick.

Well, I guess I will put one on the '08 F-250 and hope it deflects a lot of bugs. Sorry to hear of your rock attack.

Yes, the rock sucked. The dealer fixed it for free, I paid for the paint. Like I said before I have shields on all my trucks. The previous post has my 2004 and 2006 Superdutys. You cant see it on the white F-250 because its a rear shot and the blue F-350 has one but its hard to see with the dark blue paint.
