Great question.
I think a lot of people are a little leary about telling people they don't know too much about themselves. Like where they live.
We don't need to be specific, just a general Idea of location or even just a state will help tremendously when answering certain questions.
I always try to steer the new guys in a polite way to at least include a general location in their profile. Saves from having to be asked 100's of times when those certain questions are asked.
