My wife used 91,000 Gallons of water last month (Gardens, plants and huge lawn) And bill was $87.10. That includes monthly $35.00 fund for repairs. Were on a community water district with 2 huge generators for backup. Water is 700 down to aquifer. That comes out to $0.0009/gal. I can live with that. House is on septic so thats $0 per month.

Man...she uses over 3,000 gal per day. What a pig.

I hooked up my generator to a friend's well to check output... I was 12 when it was drilled and forgotten when my friend passed.

Hoped it would be viable but pumps dry in about 7 minutes and takes about 12 hours to recharge.

3,000 gallons a day would easily be $30 a day or $1800 every two months....

Hmmmm........ I use my generator for powering corded tools when out on the property. My corded tools are much bigger, heavier than the cordless ones. 39+ years out here and never even once had to use the generator because of a power outage. About eleven years ago we had our longest outage - 26 hours. Our utility company maintains a miraculous service record. And at 6.5 cents/hw hr - they are very reasonable.

Great utility you have there oo....... even w/o considering the low kwh rate.....

Cordless has come a long way, even in the last 10 years, but few will outwork/last a heavy corded tool+generator+5 gallons of gas...

right tool for the job, makes for a better day.....

WATER is one of the most precious resources we have. To misuse it is beyond criminal. To decide what constitutes that, is very convoluted and because it's so life important, often political and money driven.

Ran my three generators the other week (Champion 3000w 120v, 3500w 240v and 1800w 120v inverter) to run some stuff at work (shipping office computer on the 3500w 240v one, repeater on the inverter and a shop vac and some lights on the 3000w 120v one to do some cleaning in the high voltage power distribution boxes while the system was shut down for service).

The 3500w 240v and 1800w inverter ran from 7:30am to about 2pm and the 3000w 120v ran from about 9am to Noon on about 4.5 gallons of fuel.

Triple-threat backup ! Liking it .

That 3500 caught my attention..... not used to seeing 240 below 5kw..... compact solution, makes sense for IT work, sub-Google farm.....

That one is 3500w running, 4000w starting and it was free on the side of the road. Valves were way out of adjustment and it needed a muffler and a carb cleaning.
I think I have $75 into it now.
