Your last generator Maintenance Run

Third the 10kw Kubota diesel generator I am installing in a dedicated generator shed. Another week or so hope to have it ready. It will run everything except the electric clothes dryer.
Electric dryers typically draw 5500 watts at least all the ones I’ve had.
That would put a nice load on both gen & diesel.
Sounds like a nice system you’re putting together.
I’m currently in the final stages of getting my power house up & running.
I just moved it into position next to the house and ran 3.5 conduit thru the garage wall into the powerhouse for electrical connections.
Planning on installing 3 diesel generators in it.
3.7 kw Yanmar 120/240 volt
10 hp Yanmar driving a 450 amp 6 phase DC alternator and an MEP952b military DC unit with a 15hp Farymann diesel.

Yes you are right about that. My dryer is the same. When I was sizing the generator I got to about 8kw running watts without the welder, plasma, or dryer. For an exercise load I am using a 5kw space heater.

Evacuations continue... 90k so far all the way to the Pacific if I heard right... 99 percent of Marin County which is the North side of Golden Gate.

Personally, I worry about looting...

Where are all these folks evacuating to?
When Florida evacuated for hurricanes, the folks in Miami went to Orlando which filled up pretty fast and they still had folks trying to find places. Some folks from Orlando evacuated farther north, so Orlando wasn't all that safe either.

When you get your Kubota generator running I would be interested in how many hrs/gallon you get with various loads. Small portable heaters are perfect for applying steady loads for this purpose.
The data you acquire allows you to calculate how much fuel you need to have on hand for various scenarios.
My l100 Yanmar which is my mileage King runs 6 hrs/gal at 2500 rpm turning a 450 amp DC alternator which directly connects to my 4kw inverter with a 1kw AC load.

90, that Kubota 10 KW a 3600rpm rig ? I have been drooling over a Lincoln Vantage 300 with the Kubota 1800 rpm rig but even I can’t justify it , just don’t loose power often enough to sell it on that count !

I don't need to schedule maintenance runs on the generator, PG&E has outages all year now! The 22 year old Honda EM5000 is running right now. I do want to get a whole house propane generator though.

The FedEx guy told me he's delivering a lot of generators up here. I'm amazed that people don't all have one already. The power goes out often in the winter due to falling branches and trees. I bought one when we moved here.

PG&E is working on putting the main line for our road underground and replacing the trunk lines with insulated wires. Hopefully they'll finish it next year. And they did an extra round of vegetation clearing this summer. They should have been doing those 20 years ago.

Underground power and utilities is nice when it's new,
give it a few decades and the repairs start and they are more expensive and harder then overhead.
