Your last generator Maintenance Run

well I scared it...on my way downstairs to go to generator to turn it off, public power came back on after 13 hours.
Oil in gen still clear and same place it was.
Back on green ready for the next one
Awful lot of rain to go, so lot more trees to come down.
But nice, if only for awhile, to get full power back on.
picked up a lot of broken pine limbs but nothing big so far.
very happy this storm went other direction but look out below

Compared to the hit it looked like you were going to get, that's a great day !

I'm good.. just lite misting rain for 2-3 days & 35-45 mph winds.. never lost power.. it flickered afew times but that was it..
I had moved all my cars & trucks up by the road, out of the way of any falling trees but that was not an issue, THIS TIME.
I was READY tho.. had all my valuables in water proof tubs & those, stored in 1 bigger tote so I could grab it & go if needed.
Had food/water for weeks, but that's the norm around here.. Lol.. The genny was gassed up & test ran & enough fuel for days/week if ran properly.
We just gotta keep an eye on what behind this one.. Last I heard there were 2 more.??
I'm up on Lake Marion & ALL the flood waters will drain down into my lake on its way out to the ocean.. Theres a real potential of it flooding in the coming weeks.. I'm pretty hi up so no worries on my part..

I'm good too, just a huge mess over more than five acres of lawn, if it dries up enough today, more stick picking and hooking up the trac vac.
Will need to vac entire property, am surrounded by woods, trees and bits of junk everywhere. But....my gutters are right where they belong. :thumbsup:

my whole house gen has two friends looking into them now.
No lights or power in middle of night when wind and rain howling, not much fun for seniors.
No fun for anyone actually.

I've had to deal with minor ground water issues here - mind boggling the scale of the water your area is dealing with.

We are well back from the coast, so we just had rain & some moderate wind. Our place is well above the low spots in our area, so no possible flood issues other than maybe road blockage. No outages yet, so in great shape compared to a lot of the state.

Sounds like you are doing great nik..... looks like you are up near the Virginia line.

I have relatives in the Maritimes, and have worked in Nfld in the Winter..... Coastal areas are beautiful and scenic, but can get beaten up pretty bad during heavy weather.

Been thinking of you guys... lots of news coverage here and some of my friends from Oakland FD are back there...

So far we have had about 150 days without rain... which causes it's own issues.

There have been CO fatalities in Florence. Generator "veterans" and newbies.... we are all vulnerable.
