Your favorite tool and why?

My multi porpose tool that rides in its holster attached to my belt. It is with me at least 16 hrs everyday. It gets used at least twice everyday.

For everyday use - hands down, my Leatherman Super Tool. It's gotten me out of many sticky situations and it is always on my belt. Great on the rifle range, out in the field hunting or mowing and just about anywhere else. If my multi-tool doesn't fit the definition of "tool" then I would vote for my Dremel. Broken quill mounts, exhaust systems and so many jobs that I dreaded for years are now a snap. Best tool my wife ever bought me :D.

Allen it's been close to 10 years since I purchased the set but it sticks in my mind that the set was $68.00 at the time. Well worth the money.

Wonder what they go for these days with inflation and all?????

Very nice idea for a tool set. I don't recall ever seeing anything like it before. My favorite tool is my Lincoln 175 amp mig welder.

My favorite tool is an old wooden handled 5 pound drilling hammer.

Why.....you figure it out.

I was lucky enough to have some tools passed down to by my father. My favorites are some of the OLD handtools that I use frequently. They were made well.

That being said, this is a pic. of a woodworking workbench made by my Grandfather circa. 1910. It is oak, and just as sturdy and usefull today as when he made it. Anyway it has been in my basement shop for 30 + years, and I still smile when I take the time to look at it.

As an aside, my father used to tell me about being sent down to the "Place" to get a bucket full of beer for his father when he was working. He was just a sprout. The bucket had a lid, and was made for this purpose. Ahh...once upon a time things were sooo simple.....

I'm noting a trend here...think I'll continue it.

My favourite tool is in my right pants pocket as I type this. It's been there for about 20 years. My father gave it to me because I had lost my previous one & he figured I needed it. I have clear memories of my grandfather using it out in the bush AND at the kitchen table when I was very small and it was old then...

My favorite is a new WORX Circular Saw with Revolver handle. http://www.worxpowertools.com/products/revolver.htm
It has a revolving hand grip to reduce the stress on your hand and arm as you are sawing across a long section. WORX also has the Revolver handle on 2 drills and a sabre saw. These are expensive tools, but they really are easy on the hands and arms. In addition they have a lot of power.
