Beats a steel shot pellet in the bird you're eating!
Or a lead pellet in corn. I bought some at a farm stand last year and found bird shot in it. I understand they want to keep the crows away but...

Well I say either way you find the pellet is much preferred to receiving the pellet directly from the source... from personal experience, it smarts.
