Well...all I can say is there must be lots of young whippersnappers here!

Started paying into social security at age 12 with every job as an employee being a job where I was recruited…My guess is that you wound up pretty successful in life and that administrator could smell it early on. Got to not let gumption, persistence and capabilities interfere with their advancement prospects.
Boy, I do! I also remember when the post office got rid of them, a local pizza restaurant bought a couple to make deliveries. The meter maids drove them, too.YKYAO if you remember when the US Mail used these things:

A couple kids at my high (maybe grade) school had them, I always thought they were so gross. Blow nose, put it back in pocket. Repeat as necessary thru the day. Yuck.My 33 YO daughter just said that she only knows 2 people that carry handkerchiefs and I was one of them.
I do remember meter maids using something similar 50-odd years ago. There was a guy that drove around neighborhoods in the city where I went to college with something like that (I think his was a Cushman) selling produce door to door.Boy, I do! My mind's eye sees that thing doing a wheelie if the passengers favor sitting toward the rear of the carriage.Saw the Vietnamese taxi version on the one occasion when I arrived at a "civilized" part of Vietnam, 50+ years ago.

Yeah, Cushman was the big brand back then. Local parks department had some of the 3 wheelers, and switched them out for 4 wheelers in the 70s. They had a little dump bed, which was much more useful. Today, everything is pickup truck with trailer towing zero turns based at central office. We used to have equipment and people based at each park. Now with more efficient machines, that's no longer needed.I do remember meter maids using something similar 50-odd years ago. AAAHHHH, but which one pulls 100 pounds up the hill faster?I’m a torque junkie.
Lets take a Cat C-13 with 400HP and a Ford Powerstroke with 500HP
Which one pulls more weight up a hill?![]()
I agree 100%. Being a lifetime drag racer, all I care about is being the first one there in a 1/4 mile race. I don't care if the other guy is going faster when he crosses the finish line second. The acceleration is the fun part, more than blasting down a straight stretch of highway at 200 mph.![]()
