You Know You Are Old When

We had a couple hose clamps let go on our submersible well pump one morning when we had a party scheduled for that afternoon at our house. The pump was running constantly, spraying out in the top of the well. A very good friend of mine that is a jack of all trades came to the rescue. We pulled the pump up about 6', removed the pitless adapter and replaced the hose clamps. If it weren't for my buddy Josh, the party would have had to be cancelled and who knows when I could have gotten a well guy out to fix it.

The name "pitless adapter" originates from the historical practice of using well pits to connect water wells to service lines. In the past, these pits required manual assembly and disassembly of pipe fittings, making maintenance difficult and unsanitary. The introduction of pitless adapters in the mid-1950s eliminated the need for well pits, allowing for a more sanitary and convenient connection between the well and the water line. This change was significant in improving well construction practices and reducing contamination risks.

Back in November I went to the Ophthalmologist for my annual checkup, I have dry eye and starting to get cataracts. They dilated my eyes, checked me out, eye test etc.

That was Monday, that night I started having discomfort in my left eye, then pain around the whole eye, got so sick I threw up 3 times. I was in misery.

Looked at her schedule, she was closed on Tuesday, suffered all day and made a call Wednesday morning, they said come in late afternoon. They checked me out, I had Glaucoma in my left eye from dilation, the pressure was 44 in the left and 14 in the right.

She did a Lazer procedure on my left eye, opening up the drainage in the back of my eye. Pressure went down to 14. Came back in a week and did the same Lazer treatment on my right eye.

Every procedure can have unintended complications…

We do a lot of good work but I still am very cautious…

It’s good you were able to bring down the pressure…

Wait until you get ocular migraines. :ROFLMAO:

First one scares the **** out of you. Then it's kind of amusing.
My brother passed from a brain tumor in our 20's, and it was discovered when he started to have some vision problems while driving. Fast-forward just two or three years from his passing, and I started having vision problems while driving home one evening, so of course that's where my thoughts go...

Turned out to be an occular migraine, and I've continued to suffer from them on and off the last 30 years, if suffering is even what you can call it. My wife became convinced at some point early on, that a good BJ was the best cure when symptoms would appear, so there were several years where I'd honestly look forward to getting a migraine. :ROFLMAO:

My best friend and I both got cataract surgery 1 yr apart in different states. I got implants, he did not. 2 yrs later we both are dealing with dry eye. Coincidence or side effect? He's 7 yrs younger than me.

It's the Goshen News, the local newspaper. Maybe you're to young to remember when you got some of your information from printed media, instead of those worthless social media sites.
The big thing for me is coverage of local events, meetings and events that isn't covered on broadcast news. Also, I work the daily crossword puzzle during breakfast. Haven't gotten a taste for Sudoku, even though I like math problems.
In the continueing saga of cleaning out py parent's property I came across some 2005 newspapers which my father had in his firestarting pile. I brought them home and am using them for that purpose but sometimes get distracted reading them.

YKYO when you spend 10 days in Europe with a pair of youthful, highly attractive blondes and -------- isn't at the top of the priority list.
Sure, it got done but in the day more would have been accomplished in the first day than in 10. Or maybe my memory is just exaggerated.
Either way... I'm getting old.🥺
