Buying Advice YM155D just bought

There will be a certain ratio of front to rear tire revolutions per mile. On any 4x4, a change of tire sizes has to maintain this ratio. I've read that the front should lead by up to 5% and shouldn't be pushed by the back tires.

Now - a new complication: I've seen in some Yanmar parts manuals that they had different gear ratios in the differentials for R-1, turf, etc OEM tires. So I think you can't just buy the alternate type of tire that was also offered that year if that alternate tire spec came with a different gearset.

I would research this thoroughly before buying different tires.

hmmmm.. this puts a new spin on it. Let me get the exact number of the tractor model year etc, and so we can go from there.

thats a nice set up as-is, try the belly mower and see what you think before making wholesales changes to it. As other have stated its very capable in its current work attire, great find, I am from sangerville and there are some finds if you are patient and know what to look for, Thanks for sharing !!!!! Well I will try it this weekend. The grass in the field is up about 6" and so maybe I will just give it a shot and see what happens. I can start with the deck up high and go from there. Will let you all know.

Well I have read lots, but the debate continues it seems on what to do with the fronts.

Any suggestions? The front turf tires presently on the tractor are 6-12. So what size to go with if switching to Ag tires?

my 336d is on turfs, they work better than I thought they would, did you try the 4wd on your 155 ?

Well yes, I did try the 4WD in that when I drove the tractor around the dealership parking lot, I stopped, and shifted the 4WD lever and then drove around again, so I assume that it is working when engaged. But will have to get on a little hill or left up a wheel etc to make sure that everything is spinning.

I would sell that rig, as is, pocket about $1,000 and buy what I need.. The tires and mower alone are worth $1500.
