Unlike some other Yanmars that have several indicator lights, my YM 2700 only has one indicator light (red) which is located just to the right of the tachometer, and I have no idea what it indicates. Is it temp., charging, oil pressure, or what? Does anyone know?

Make sure the light is working. If it's the Water/Temp remove and ground out the wire to sender and should come on. If it's the oil pressure it should come on until the oil pressure comes up on a cold start.Those are the easy ones. Or you may just have to trace the wires.

Thanks for the responses. Sorry I've been away from the computer for a few days. Winston - Besides the tachometer, the only gauge on the dash is the temp guage. Neat 1500 - The light has two wires. One goes to a wire junction just behind the dash. The other wire joins several others through a conduit going toward the front of the tractor. The wire going from the light is yellow, and the only yellow wire coming out of the conduit is going to the top and front of the engine into what I believe looks like the water pump, but not positive at this point. Would the tractor have a temperature gauge and a temperature light?
Paul (Neat 1500) -- I just had message from another site where I was also told that the indicator light was for oil pressure. If it wasn't for the temp guage already being there, I would have sworn the light was for water temp. Thanks again for the info.
