YM 2500 Battery

My Yanmar 2500 has a Panasonic Pro (N100Z I think) battery in it. Apparently it is no good and I need to replace it. I can not find a cross reference for this battery and I have no idea what "Class" this battery is. Can someone help me find out what I need to ask for when I call the Battery folks? I greatly appreciate any help I can get.

Just get a group 27, or group 31 if you can find one (more amps). Make sure the terminal configuration matches your current battery

I'm a big fan of Interstate batteries. Most Interstate dealers carry or can get the Powervolt, an unbranded battery, costs less, less warranty, can't tell you any more but they have held up well for us.

Thanks. I know it is much larger than the group 27, because the 27 is what I have in my bass boat and this thing is much longer. I just want it to fit in the bracket that I already have. Group 31 must be it, but how do I know for sure?

I have a tractor supply branded tractor battery in my 1500D. It is much bigger than most batteries I have seen but I am not sure on the group size. If you have a TSC nearby just take your old one in and match it up.

Measure your battery compartment and get the biggest battery that will fit, regardless of group #. If your Japanese battery has an electrolite level sensor, you will need to short the leads together to disable the dash light.
