ym 1500 pto

Hello guys, I just aquired a gray market ym 1500, and the pto only stays engaged when the clutch pedal is
depressed is this normal or can you engage it and it stay on with clutch pedel is disengaged?
Any help with this matter will be helpful. thanks.

Live PTO=working when the clutch is engaged regardless of the gearing

Non-live PTO=working when the clutch is engaged and the tractor is in gear

Yours is probably a live PTO

a yanmar is a japaneese tractor not chinese. ( you are in a chineese forum )

als.. the pto definitions above are not completey correct.

independent pto is generally independent of a foot clutch.

live pto generally is a 2 stage clutch and there is a pedal height that you can get to to clutch the drivetrain but leave the pto running.. and then full down clutches both.

non live pto is standard single stage. clutch pressed kills pto and drivetrain.

a 1500 should be non live pto.

are you saying the pto will only spin when you have a foot on the clutch?

yes you have to depress the clutch to get pto to spin.is this normal

you normally have to depress the clutch, shift the pto IN, then let off the clutch.. and then it will spin.

if the pto spins ONLY when the clutch is pressed. you have some issues..
