Great looking building!!

I've done a little framing in my time and know that you tested your builders with your design!! I'd say you made it about as complicated as you could!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No way would I have wanted that job, just too much time on fitting all the angles together. My hats off to your builder. It's really hard to make a buck off jobs like that unless you know your stuff and have a great crew!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congratulations,
Eddie

P.S. What's a storm room?
)</font>

That's what I keep calling it, but I think it's more commonly (and appropriately) known as a mudroom. Just a small covered entry room where the boots/coats/dog leashes etc. can be kept.

I'm no builder, but yup...every time I look at it, I see something else and wonder "how did they do that?" /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

So many of the little details were "done on the fly" by the builder. He'd see something that might make a nice touch, and just did it - I discovered early on I could just trust him to do things with very little input from us. The deck and mudroom are good examples; basically, they were designed over the phone in a conversation that lasted about 20 minutes. I've lost count of the times I've told him "just do what you think makes sense".

Here I was thinking it was super reinforced to withstand earthquakes, tornadoes, etc /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Painter just sent me the attached pic...it's not the greatest image, but it will have to do until we get up there to see it in person next week. My neighbors informed me the guy did an outstanding job.

We're hoping to sign off the small punch list with the contractor when we head up. Then...things will progress much more slowly as we build out the interior over the next couple years. Such is the case when the budget runs out..."save a little, build a little" will be our tune from here on out.

Man o man, does that look nice!!!! I bet your just chomping at the bit to get settled in and live there permanently!!!! It was my life dream to live in the country, and now that I'm doing it, it's better than I'd imagined it would be like.
