how long have you been runnin wheel machines over 150 horsepower.c-12s have overrev at 2000 rpms it hits the rev limiter when you load it.i have smaller machines that i run wide open and still want more
My FTX-140 will drain the 52 gallon tank in 10 hours. I do not shut down for anything if I don't have to. I even watch how much I drink an do not eat anything to avoid those shutdowns.
the point is ,you told me you burn 75 gallons in your 140 . you told this other guy you burn 50 a day.do you know how much fuel you burn in a day or is someone coaching you
Just to let you know an M-760 has a C-13 (not a 12) and the minimum fuel burn rate is in the attached spec sheet.
It has a 210 gallon fuel tank (not 190). You could only burn 12 GPH (96 GPD) if you were working at 1100 RPM.
In 2008 I was cutting juniper trees that had been on the ground for 5 years and I was able to stretch a 10 hour day out of a tank of fuel. For the past year and a half I have been cutting live PJ and it drains the tank is 7 hours. I usually fill up and go back in for a few more hours if daylight permits.
You need to fire your coach...for the record I do not believe you own a single M760 much less multiple like your response indicates.
Enlighten us please, what company do you own or do you operate a M760 for someone. Cutting saplings and material under 3" any machine would burn almost nothing. At high idle 2000-2200 a C-13 415hp burns almost 30 GPH not Liters, were smart enough up here to be able to figure out both units. This conversation started off as Mark telling the Forum about his new machine and its turned into some pi$$ing match about how little fuel a particular machine burns. Yours is the major exception to all internal combustion engines. It takes fuel to make power plain and simple. To get back on track Mark i may take a little detour after all and come visit around the 18th of Aug or so. I'm gonna bring some pictures of the Tigercat for your Barko lol.
Oy Vey, alright so there's a C-12 in there so its pre 2007. Still doesn't burn 10 GPH. The point is your fuel burn is a little off.. more than a little. Maybe with the Fecon head it burns less than the FAE ? Dunno. Good luck with your mulching
ive logged thousands of hours with these machines .i also have afriend with with a 930. i said on average you r not burning any where near 20 gph.a fuel chart from cat is not real world.
That works out to be $81.25 per hour in fuel on this side of the planet . I wonder how much per hour the other costs work out to be , teeth , belts , oil , maintenance , depreciation etc ?
Expensive to run. A tube of grease per day replacement etc. But very productive. Outworks my other machines by 2-1 or more. Fuel is 2.50/gallon right now.
HEY guys I got to meet CB today & see his new toy, all I can say is WOW!!!
Although not in action but that thing is a beast to look at, I can just guess what it's like to run, COOL!! Hope you the best CB & Nice to meet you!
