Yardman starter???

Pulling apart my mower as I've figured out that the starter **** out on me.... But I'm stuck I can't get this metal plate or what not off.... Can anyone tell me how??? Pix attached

Looks like a spanner for the nut and a large puller to remove the flywheel/ringgear

What generally works is to back off the nut flush with end of the threads.
Then a sharp rap with a hammer most often the flywheel will simply pop of the tapered shaft end.
Not to heavy a hammer and not all that hard a blow.
You want the nut flush so as not to damage the threads.

I replaced my Yardman starter last year without removing the flywheel. (19 hp Briggs) It took a lot of very short turns of the wrench on that back bolt, but it can be done. Good Luck.
