You guys in Alaska need to prepare for all the new folks moving North as their original areas become affected.

I thought Alaska had the coldest winter on record this last year? or was that canada and much of the north? We were VERY cold this winter here in the south...had 2 big snow storms for the area the winter of 2014.

This weekend it was cool in the mouring here and late afternoon almost felt like april or may around here usually does.

I heard on the radio them talking about thunderstorms in southern California and that it was rare. I could not beleive that as summer thunder storms are the norm around here!!!!

here in new england it's been just another new england summer. I can't say that it's different from the average summer. Hot days, humid days with it's share of cooler days mixed in. The a/c has been on just about as often as I'd expect.

Normal California weather is no rain all summer long. When I worked construction we considered roughly Easter to Thanksgiving to be the rainless construction season, maybe with taking a rain day off occasionally at the beginning and end of the season. Never in the middle of summer.

The inhabited and farm areas in California are basically in a desert. Most of California is right next to a huge snowpack in the Sierras that keeps the rivers and farm irrigation running all summer.

Here's a local article about how unusual the present summer rain is. And another one. A tenth of an inch of rain is forecast while the previous record was a hundredth of an inch 40 years ago. The weather has gone weird.
